I beg to differ pal, it's not 'censorship' as you claim, but rather it's a "free market that regulates itself." You see, if it was censorship, you wouldn't even have known that a 'situation' existed, as all national coverage would converge to throw you off any trail or whiff of a problem.

This on the other hand is a company simply protecting its assets and IP. The question is: Wouldn't you do the same for a product your company produces?

All sarcasm aside, no one can reasonably claim that this is correct nor best for the consumer, but it is what has been allowed be as it has happened over and over and over again (search google for relevant links!). Sprint, interestingly enough, has done the same exact thing regarding problems with certain phones and ways to circumvent features that have been excluded though present/available. But now that could come down to legal issues as well as moral issues.

Sometimes, as some will undoubtedly say, it's not what could you do with them but why would you right? If I was to see a corner of damaged wall filled in with lego I would be "that's awesome!" It's also beautiful and breaks up the monotony of grey.

But more importantly, it inspired and gives people and especially children ideas. As I've said before, I think this is what helped guide me towards engineering/manufacturing (although it is not my profession). What I have learned has helped me out in every job I've had, and it all started with legos.

There's only 2 downsides to legos: 1) they're expensive to buy even in bulk, 2) you can never find that darn NxN you're looking for!&#*&#*(!!

My managers have told me "In our company, when we give you a 5 for your assessment that really means it's a 10. Because if I was to give you a 10, then you should be doing my job. If my boss was to give me a 10, then I should be doing my boss' job. You understand what I'm saying?"

And yeah, I'm serious! That's what they've told me (they = more than 1 manager I've had in this company). It's very sad.

And then in college, I asked a history teacher about the dates of when certain states/territories were obtained and she gave me the dates. But the big map that was hanging in the room didn't agree with her. So I asked her about the map and she was like "well I don't know then." I was like WTF! You're supposed to be teaching me exactly about this!

Finally, my experience has been that teachers are just like you and I: human! They forget, confuse and sometimes just plain don't know. One guy in particular said straight out in a philosophy class:

"You (students) are welcome to bring drinks, such as my coffee here (points to it) or water. Can have food in the room such as snacks, as long as you have a PhD in your name. And since I happen to be the only one with a PhD, then that means I'm the only one allowed to have food and drinks."

So, fast forward a bit... this teacher, who I take it as bragging because he has a PhD in Philosophy from Harvard, literally only shows every other class. Actually, he does show, to post a note. But it's usually before we get there so we don't see him. Maybe he sent a TA? Then, he grades everyone REALLY poorly. Even I who love philosophy do really bad. So in the end, the students who reallllly needed this class get screwed because there is no way they can pass it without a lot of exposure to what he was teaching already. But what pissed me off more than anything, is that he wouldn't answer a question I had. I won't get into the details, but he straight refused to say anything other than: "I am not that person, so I can not tell you what they would say/think/answer/consider/etc." Glad that PhD is working for him!

The whole bit was REALLY lame. They explained it like this:

There's a warehouse, and 1 dude in there shouting "books, books" with no one buying because they can't hear his voice from the many other. So then, somehow he rigs it (hacks) so that he goes into peoples accounts and buys his own book. Then apple is like, o`rly? Why is this lowly book #1 beating out ze twinkle series? And so they noticed and are like arrrrg! We've been piz0wn0red, right And they recall the app and remove it from the store.

I think that, regardless of how bad they portrayed what happened, the damage is done. All the arguments the smug iPhonies have made of "well macs don't get viruses...(implying security)" "it's good that there is so much control because it makes it safer..." are now??? But, thankfully for apple, many of their fans will just turn their heads and look the other way.

So I guess only time will tell but I'm guessing those with that white veil over their eyes won't let this problem affect them. As one windows to mac user said "I just got tired of windows... and macs just work!"

I always tell them that with all the problems the shuttles have had, they're still very important. But they aren't the best nor the only thing needed for the ISS and future development in space.

The real fact is that the U.S. doesn't have the technology to put everything up in space that we need. We all know the shuttle itself is limited in what it can take up. We also know that our rockets do the best they can, but can't compare to the heavy lifters the Russians have. Which is no surprise then why they take up the payloads to the ISS.

But together, the two can do awesome things. Nothing is impossible (read my sig), but having to build the ISS out of capsules instead of with/the shuttle would probably have meant the ISS never having happened until new technology was developed.

Well, the amount of experiments produced in the shuttles is what i referred to. I also forgot about the skylab.

Regarding the 'safer rockets,' maybe safer as in not blowing up, but it didn't deliver the payload in a much safer manner. I was reading up on skylab and the problems it had being deployed which severely 'damaged' many components. But I don't want to argue 1 thing over another, because honestly both are out of my league (since I really have nothing to do with them and don't know enough about them).

It was versatile enough to do whatever you needed it to do. It has a giant robotic arm from Canada. Yes, CANADA! The place where the South Park creators are from!

Now, the whole thing about it being safe is probably the problem. Well, was the problem. Back when the challenger had issues it really cut the program down. Unfortunately, it was a known problem (even then). I haven't kept up with the booster rocket technology at-all since then, but I assume they're much safer now! The only issue now would be re-entry. They have to develop and mature some better-stronger-lighter-cheaper materials that can take it and we'll be off of those soft-crushable panels that can be flaked off because they're hand applied!

As far as I know, there would be no ISS if it wasn't for the SS. So it's thee vehicle to have. Rockets are cool, but shuttles are better. And just like the yankees or lakers, if you wanna win, you gotta pay$
