Hmmm... I wonder how many people only need it because if they don't believe it they will be shunned by the community and become dysfunctional...
And Buddhism doesn't require you to believe in reincarnation, you can believe whatever you want about life after death and be Buddhist...
Excuse me... I live in the southeast U.S. in the "bible belt". I am a non Christian and I have fundamental differences of opinion with Christians. Now I am all for character development but not for one second do I believe that I have to even "care" about Jesus or the Bible if I don't want to.
Now I can't express that belief without SERIOUS repercussions. You don't believe me? Well move here and try putting a sticker on your car that says "I don't believe in Jesus". No, I don't get to express MYSELF because I don't follow the majority... of course I guess I could express myself and constantly live in conflict... what I great life that would be (yeah right). Those "fanatics" will come out of the woodwork GUARANTEED. I have lived it sir.
You will be made to feel like a dog for having your own beliefs around even the gentlest crowd of Christians.
Now, I can only imagine living in a Muslim country where I would risk being killed expressing myself.
See you are taking it too seriously. That's my point. If I disagree with it then "oh I am the bad guy".
You know what, try being an non-Christian in the bible belt and never being able to express yourself without fear of being labeled some crap like "pagan". Now imagine living in a country where you are killed for not following their "religion".
Yeah but a cutscene can tell much more than the main character can experience in real-time.
That's why Half Life 2 is so dry, they expect all the story to be told as Gordon is moving through the game. What about the background of the game? What about the subplots and other characters? A lot of the story doesn't involve just the main character. But perhaps they can figure it out to have the fewest possible cutscenes.... I just think to say "no cutscenes period" is limiting the potential of a good story.
RTS storylines are good but the gameplay is generally stiff and boring.
There is too much "errand running" in those. I'd rather start out with all my abilities and cut to the chase... and it needs to be First Person of course. But even Oblivion's control felt notchy compared to Half Life or Doom.
That is about the most dry game I have ever played. I never connected with any of the characters and the plot went nowhere. I'd rather play Half Life 1 which didn't try to pretend to tell a story... it let you make up your own mind.
Maybe the Great Firewall would do everyone some good. If the Chinese government really wants to isolate themselves so badly then LET THEM! The isolation will be their demise and the rest of the world will thrive with it's internet. Maybe then the Chinese will realize they need the rest of the world and it's cultures and ideas to be the great country they "claim" to be.

So if I buy a new computer I can't use my Ipod? This doesn't make sense to me either.
Religion deserves to be made fun of. Too many people take it too seriously and want to force it on people.
They lie about everything anyway.
So I guess paint brushes and paint, being technology, add nothing to art??
It still needs some sort of point though.

Riddick was a good one, although FPS purists may not like the game I thought it was very fun and had much replay value.
Am I out of touch, what is this World of Warcraft thing?
Sometimes it's about morals and ---- amazingly ---- not politics.

Yeah, but the U.S. INVENTED the internet. So... what's your point?
