IANAL but if I remember correctly you do not have to distribute the ENTIRE source of the product. You only have to redistribute the source code covered by the GPL. If your code does not directly modify GPL licensed code then you can release your software under whatever license you wish, so long as the GPL code remains free/libre. Example: I have linux on my laptop and most of the software is free/libre except for the WIFI driver and Adobe Flash. Because flash nor the wireless driver directly use code from GPL programs then they do not have to redistribute THEIR source code.
Wireless is the rare outsider to the hardware group. My friend who in the past had flat out hated, loathed, and despised anything with the word Linux anywhere near it has now installed it on one of the machines he has because Windows drivers for his motherboard hardware were literally missing. The manufacturer's website had been down for about 6-8 months and the chipset for the Ethernet controller was only used by them for a short time so most windows drivers he could find supposedly for the board, were not compatible. His new stance on Ubuntu: "hmmm...I guess this is pretty cool actually." Still uses windows more often but is starting to really like the Ubuntu machine.
I watched the KDE4.0 Release keynote on google video a few days back. Even the developers admit that the 4.0 release is very incomplete. KDE 4.1 is supposed to release around June/July (too lazy to look it up) and should have the missing features to account for this. I'm going to keep using Gnome for now but I may switch when 4.1 comes out.
Agreed. How long have we kept accurate historical documentation on world climate? What is to say in 2000 years it won't be back to the return of the ice age?
They have over 1,000 open source printer drivers. It's nice knowing you can plug in the HP printer and it will just go. That would explain why it was so easy to setup my PSC 2335 all-in-one. Glad to know that buying an HP printer will mean it is most likely easier to setup than others. Please mod parent +1, Informative.
I have my boycott. I refuse to buy microsoft products actually. When my parents got their new(er) used computer the first thing I did was put feisty on it. Also in case anyone is wondering and would like to send a message to Mr Gates his fax number is 425-708-0600. It took some hassle to get it from the receptionist but I got it!
At night I will put it down in case my wife is up in the middle of the night still half asleep (or the same for myself) but during the daylight hours I will go either way and it's fair game at my house.
I think a blue freezer would be a better spot to stick that. I would be worried about that beef you've had in there since last week though it's probably been corrupted by the last Blue screen of death.
Dorothy was a bunch of spheres whereas Dr miller's team had the cubes in their version of dorothy....but I digress.

They're making our food out of people. Next thing they'll be breeding us like cattle for food. You've gotta tell them. You've gotta tell them!

Parent is funny. "RE: Your Brains" reference.
"All we want to do is eat your brains. We're not unreasonable, I mean, no one's gonna eat your eyes"

Well by then we'd have Google Universe
After reading that I sincerely believe you should go *CENSORED* yourself!
