I don't like Gay people. They make me feel uncomfortable. That's why I can't go out to bars here. No matter how hard I try, I can't get the city council to ban homosexuality in public. God forbid I try to go to a non-gay bar. That would just be too much of a hassle. I mean, I have my morals and all, but I can't be bothered, it's an inconvenience.
Words you mention in your post lead me to think that you do not understand what free market capitalism is. The United States does not have and for the most part, never has had, a free market. "Stocks", suing based on copyright (RIAA), etc. are _not_ free market, it is corporatism. Corporatism is a form of state capitalism, which is only wrongly called capitalism because a physical object (money) is used as an intermediary. A real free market could have exchanged based on money, or even a gift economy. What works would be what survives. As it is now, all of us are forced to operate inside the current system where businesses are beholden to their shareholders based on Federal law.
This is not something I want to have to explain to my mom, my girlfriend, or my neighbor -- nor do I want to do it for them. The sad realization is that this isn't a problem. It's no worse than trying to explain to them how to kill all the spyware on their computer, or how to diagnose the system when it gets bloated beyond use.
What is sad is the every operating system has problems. No one is exempt. That's the nature of such complex beasts.
While I may be mistaken, I believe I am not. This comes from the time in my life when I owned a business and performed retail. As I explained it was how it was explained to me and how I conducted business. It is possible that it's not a clear line. A possibility is that the tax is levied against the item itself so that it must be paid by _someone_.
It's the business' responsibility for calculating and paying the sales tax. It's a tax on the business, not the consumer. It's customary for it to be added to the bill and calculated as a separate item. This is not a requirement though. I charge you $10 for a book. I can either, charge the tax to you or raise the ticket price to compensate.
So I went to this Rhino store and checked out the help section. I wanted to know if everything had DRM. In there I found this:
What is Digital Rights Management (DRM)?
The DRM helps protect the file from illegal copying. However, as with any 'lock', hackers may break it. Those who knowingly tamper with DRM are acting illegally. They may even wear masks and possess secret identities. We discourage any attempt to defeat the copyright protection.
Maybe where you live. But here, on plant earth, that is not even close to true. A person must become self-sufficient and mature at some point. While those just entering college may not be so, then must learn to transition into adulthood. One can not hold their hand until the day they graduate. In my experience, those who have had their hands held enter the world without the ability to make adult decisions as they look to someone to tell them how to live their life. These people tend to take the newfound freedom too far and indulge in many exstreams, even to the point of making the mistakes we are trying to avoid.
I have a friend who's a real car nut. He's also a big environmentalist. When it came time for me to buy a new car, he specifically told me not to get a hybrid. His rational was that the chemicals it took to make the batteries on the thing, and what happened to them after the cells lifespan was of a larger environmental impact than a run of the mill compact car. Which makes sense to me.
My question is, can a station not play the music these licenses cover? Kinda like "podsafe" music. Maybe it's time for NPR to start using Creative Commons music exclusively. If enough do it, artist will begin to release more under CC licenses.
My code works fine. The difference is that English has the functional imperative to communicate information. It's only important that the spelling and grammar be sufficient, not perfect, to achieve that imperative. If I were to misspell a few words, or miss a punctuation marks, you can still understand me clearly.
There might be a possibility that ole Billy G might make a reasonable president. At Microsoft, his directive is to make money. He's very good at it. If his directive was to the best thing for the nation, he might be just as good.
Corporations are constructs of governments. To create a corporation, you register with the government and register your officers. You then fall under different rules then a sole-proprieter. When you do this much of the responsibilty and risk is taken out of the business. Thus, no person in the corporation is responsible, or feels responsible for what it does.
The sole-proprietor independent pizza shop on the corner is the only business hierarchy that isn't built to take advantage of governmental constructs.
You guys are right, I think that maybe new today. But even so, without the hd upgrade, with it at 250Gb like the N Series, it's still more expensive. Is the $150+ worth it for the 350Gb HD. I don't know.
Get Ubuntu. Install it, use a network cable and install the package ndisgtk. Now just use that to install your wireless windows drivers. Works like a charm for everyone I know. And Ubuntu will pretty much find everything else you have. It's rare that it doesn't now a days.
Actually, I did. On the E521N vs the E521. With everything the same, the FreeDos one was $40 cheaper. Maybe the Intel one's aren't cheaper. You have to make sure that EVERYTHING is the same. The E521 doesn't come with a "free 250 GB hard drive upgrade" so you have to add that, among other things.
An RFC is a request for comment. The difference between a standard and a regulation is that the motivation of a standard is to make you life/job easier and better. The motivation of a regulation is to get a politician re-elected, or to help stuff to pockets of hit buddies.
Being in college radio, this will result for us in the situation that occurred the last time the "fairness" doctrine was in place. We just won't air anything controversial. It's much safer than trying to comply to it.

Probably because the islamo-fascists moved in a took over large parts. Got to love religion.
They still have to get people to work there. "Hey, come work for google, in the middle of BFE".

Nothing like attacking the person and not the argument.

If you removed the equal sign at the end it works fine. The link that is.

I don't know about others, but I hack code and I don't give two shits about spelling and grammar.

Hey, some of Ayn Rand groupies think this guy is an idiot and a douche.

Don't blame it on "Capitalism". The stock exchange and it's rules are set by the SEC, not by the free market.

Remember, Corporations are people too. Literally.
