    What are you talking about? There are tons of libraries to program games in.. off the top of my head, Ogre3d, SDL, OpenGL, PyGame, ClanLib.

    If you want the majority of gaming on Linux, convince the game developers!!

    Linux users could have sent flyers around the region, along with a reminder not to wind up like Ernie Ball. I bet the uptake would have been surprising.

    I RTFA a little and this sounds like a dumb question which has already been answered by just looking at hotmail. Sure they didn't design hotmail from the beginning but they have been maintaining it longer then Google has with GMail.

    Rubbish it has been happening MUCH longer then that.

    It all started when the new emergency military government came in and overthrew the corrupt prime minster Taksin. The new ICT minister that replaced the old one started blocking websites. Before that happened there were only 3000 websites blocked, now there are over 15,000.

    That all happened in 2006.

    A lot of people in Thailand get raped and even people in their 25s can be really naive about the realities of life. The first thing you have to understand about a country like Thailand is that they are a lot more stricter then a western country when it comes to their children.

    They're very protective over their children compared to the west where they can do what they want. Most children in their 25+ still live with their parents and are home before 9 pm. You live with your parents until you're married. If your girlfriend visits she sleeps with your mother while you sleep with your father, just to make sure nothing happens.

    A child's actions reflect on the parent. If a child behaves badly it is because they have bad parents. If someone in your family were to argue outside your house in Thailand the whole neighbourhood will be talking about the incident and judging you. If you were to make your parents cry it's the worse thing that you could do and you will go to Buddhist hell.

    It's not wrong, it's just different. I'd compare it to the 40's or 50's in western countries I guess.

    Think about South Korea, more afraid of North Koreas conventional weaponry and artillery then of their nuke (assuming they really do have one).
    Makes sense seeming as more conventional weaponry can more easily be used without causing much controversy. It probably wouldn't even make the news.

    A nuclear weapon going off though. That would make the world press and there would be serious repercussions for harming the global environment.

    The guy who posted that MS *did* claim performance improvement makes an actual argument that the OP's "straw man" claim *is* invalid, which is perfectly fine. However, you are simply implying that *any* claim of "straw man" is a "diversion tactic", which is not.
    Can you blame me? Whenever there is a negative MS article the Straw people come out without even RTFA.

    I don't see why we waste money on making even more.. England is spending 3.5 billion pounds on one submarine and 6 nukes. WHY!?

    Does this hit the news headlines? Nope. What does you may ask?

    How the government is wasting money on immigration support, the NHS, anything else actually useful to normal people... here's a cluestick, take the nuke money away. Problem solved!

    A nuclear submarine is the most useless thing to spend money on, even as a deterrent because England would NEVER nuke a country. Could you imagine if they did? The government would be hanged. The country would be attacked. The UN would probably just grumble, etc,etc.

    Based on what? People will keep using bit torrent and ignore this piece of crap.

    Meanwhile 4.5m pounds that could have been spent on digitising important historical footage has been wasted on executive lunches and meetings.

    Think you can develop something better? THEN FUCKING DO IT.
    OK. First cancel the iPlayer and raise more funds to Digitise the remaining old footage. At the same time we should be looking at backing up that data at a separate site.

    When we have digitised all that footage which is rotting away right now then we can think about wasting money on crap like the iPlayer to make it available, but since the copyrights would have expired they might as well just put it on youtube or bittorrent it.

    What are you talking about? You don't need to pay for a TV license if you have only a PC. Only if you can receive TV signals through a device (which includes pc TV cards).

    Let me just clarify that I am talking about archive footage from over 60 years ago, not the archive footage that the article talks about which they are trying to desperately make money off before the copyrights run out.

    Your Soldner example perfectly illustrates my point. If I bought a copy of Gigli on DVD, I cannot seriously demand a return on account of it being a bad movie. It promised me a compelling storyline, but none existed! Shock! Gasp! Not playing correctly is one thing, but being a bad movie is not a crime, nor is being a bad game.
    I guess what I am talking about is a broken game where as you're talking about a bad game.

    You can't promise on the back of the box 14 playable vehicles knowing full well you only have half done in the game and this attitude of "Don't worry we'll patch it after release". Still waiting on that patch for what was promised on the box.. it's only been a few years..

    I don't really care about bad games, we're always going to have those, but there is no need for a company to ship a broken game into the market. Especially since you can't refund PC games, although I think it's console too now.

    Publishers should take this as a warning not to release games they know aren't finished yet.
