I assume those statistics are for people buying vista by itself in the store right? Not including vista sales from pre-installed computers.

How many people have you heard that got their free copy of Vista from their school or college? How many people got Vista with their new computer and then installed XP?

Now how many people did you hear actually went and BOUGHT Vista? Yeah, that's what I thought..

Wow, they sold 40 million copies, but how many did they sell for $0?

Ubuntu - Breaks compatibility, Is free or cheaper with professional 24x7 support, doesn't require upgrading or purchasing new equipment.

Macintosh - Breaks compatibility, requires purchasing new equipment, possibility of having to purchase extra applications?

All three OS choices break compatibility. Since this is a the case it means companies are looking at OS's on a level playing field and weighing the advantages and disadvantages of each.

I have 3 gigs of ram so I dont see any slowdowns but the RAM usage for vista ranged from 556-718MB with no application running.
For comparisons sake I have two computers running Ubuntu..

First is a desktop which has been running for 3 days on 2.6.22-14-generic and is running Gutsy. This one is using 344 Meg of ram, minus the programs I have running right now.. Firefox (124 meg), Pidgin (25 Meg), Gyachi (7 Meg). Altogether it totals around 500 Meg of usage. I might have left some program in there so it might be lower then 334 Meg with no programs open.

The second computer is a laptop running Ubuntu Feisty. It's been running for 47 Days on 2.6.20-16-generic. The memory usage on this one with no applications open is 212 MB.

I think most people overlook this point and don't realise how well Linux stands up in a very competitive environment.

She's not some poor artist which is why I pointed out she's made billions of pounds.

My point was that portraying her as some poor artist/creator that has lost money is completely false.

She created this universe but that doesn't give her a monopoly over it. She can't copyright wizards, spells or flying broomsticks. What's next? No one can use an elf in their IP because it was in lord of the rings?

The only reason she is putting up this lawsuit is because she wants to re-package the wiki herself which is probably why she was contributing to it in the first place.

Ah sorry I completely mis-read your question.

When I mean crap I am talking about the laws and typical government stuff. I have many American friends and they're all nice people and the culture is nice too.

There is one really big gripe I have and that is with the "us vs. them" mentality towards politics where people try to place you into a left or right wing box depending on your views on a particular subject matter so they can then easily ignore anything you say if you're not on "their side". It feels like no one in America can hold their own particular views and have to be part of "a team" when it comes to talking about how the/a country should be run.

I guess the biggest reason I wouldn't visit is because I think it is too dangerous there right now. First you have to worry about the plane being hijacked on the way over, then you have airport security to deal with, then you're outside anything could happen and it costs a lot of money to go to a hospital in the US.

Enough about America this is about China.
