We should be figuring out how to help the rest of the world gain more responsible and transparent governments that don't abuse their citizens, not sitting on our butts and commenting "well, at least we don't have it *that* bad".
Doing that only labels you as a hypocrite because of something completely unrelated to the subject matter but towards what your country has done in a past war.

Did you misread my comment? Maybe I should have put a comma in there. :/

And while they might not support the minority that use Linux and Apple OSes, I would assume that supporting the consoles instead (which they are doing) would bring in more money. Much more money.
Indeed, there is no question that consoles is where they make the most money on a AAA title.

I bet you if there was an officially supported version of steam that ran on Linux (via wine or whatever) it would have a higher percentage of use then Vista has as most Linux users are computer enthusiasts and gamers. Although Macs probably have a bigger user base not many are gamers.

Not that I don't agree with the article but I run steam using wine and it doesn't show that I am using Ubuntu on Valve's survey statistics. Also not all gamers play steam games so you're only measuring their own player base.

I still agree with the conclusion building your game just for one OS is just stupid if you want to make money.

So how is that relevant at all? I don't see how Britain is responsible at all. The responsibility lies in the people with the guns, the same people who think they are higher then everyone else. They think their people are dogs to be beaten for behaving badly.

You can point the blame on Britain all you want but it's some of the people there that are screwed up, which are oppressing everyone else.

If your bug isn't something they think will affect a lot of people, it isn't likely to be fixed.
A lot of companies do this. If you read the book "Joel on software" by an ex Microsoft employee who lead the Excel team you'll see that you have to balance the cost of fixing a bug with the number of users it affects.

I personally disagree but I can see his point if it is going to take up ALOT of your time which could be spent on a new product, but most bugs are one or two liners anyway.

I guess you also think that bulldozing down Chinese owner's homes to make space for the olympics is also...

abiding by its own laws, customs, and regulations.
When the BBC found the home owners in a jail for protesting the BBC crew wear beaten and then arrested (after being beaten). They were then made to delete the footage (they didn't because we were watching it).

I couldn't find that video, but here is another.. http://youtube.com/watch?v=kxUZIG0Eea4

Or perhaps we should look at how China kills more people a year then every other country in the world combined. Especially their treatment of Falun Gong worshippers. They beat them to death and tell people they committed suicide. Then they take the dead body to the hospital for organ harvesting.

I found a video on that here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Fkf2u1Umzi4

Does the U.S. not have the right to enforce its own laws? Why not so with China? Just because you are American and don't like China (even though you buy the majority of your imports from them)? Hypocrisy is rich.
It's got nothing to do with hating china and when you use that line you sound like you're working for the Chinese government, because that is EXACTLY what their defence is to any allegations of abuse against its citizens.

Although America is a crap country in my opinion that I'd never want to visit, at least they don't bulldoze down people's houses and give them almost nothing in return. They don't round up the religious people they don't like, beat them to death, tell the families they killed themselves and then take their heart, lungs, liver and then cremate the body to hide any evidence.
