There are at least 36 Slashdot comments so far, and not one of them is bitching about Xiaohang going over to America and taking all yer physicist's jobs/university places.
1) She's paying to go to university, so she's not "stealing" anyone's job
2) You assume she's not a US citizen based purely on her name
More mass and less people means it's cheaper to dig up the ground to lay down fibre. I poorly explained this point in my previous comment, however that's what I am trying to say.
Is that the license OSI approved which got a lot of flak because it says the source can only be run on windows or did they remove that use clause from their OSI licenses?
I don't keep up to date on such things so I am generally interested.
You're correct, BT is the main problem, however my point is that there are more people in the UK then there are in Norway and you can't just dig up the road then put down last mile fibre without it being very expensive.
Then you do what Mozilla does and put it in this-feature-mozilla so when the standard does come along you don't screw up the web with your unstandardised features.
MS breaks standards because, GASP, there is a business case to do so
Yeah, ruining the web for everyone who's not using IE.
That's interesting however I don't see it as a saving.
You might spend a lot of time in your garage so it's worth it but for me I'd rather have something that runs my computer which I believe 45 Watts won't do.
You don't need two computers to play a game on steam so your requirement of having steam on your other computer doesn't make sense.
Based on your comment history I seriously doubt that'll be a problem for you.
Yes you will because people play pirated steam games today, right now.
Because you're doing it wrong.
1. Play versus
2. Quick Match
Same thing, but faster.
Why would you need to play more then one copy at once?
You can lend the game, just give someone your steam account and password.
Well according to the article there's no DRM involved so I assuming you can still play the game.
If it does then it's a bug in wine. It'll be fixed and then wine will be better.
I can't believe this wasn't mentioned..
Here's what the new linux logo looks like for this release.

I got DD-wrt and I am pretty everything is off by default when you first install.
Second time lucky... right? right?!?!
Same with GNU Linux.. wtf is that..
You mean like the about->code page in the menu? Analogy fail.
Don't blame me. I voted for Kronos.

It's open source so everyone wins, not just Microsoft.
No I think the MS-PL have patent waivers as well which is why they didn't just go with BSD in the first place.
I say "i think" because I haven't read the license since it was first published.

Norway Population - 4,644,457 (July 2008 est.)
UK Population - 60,943,912 (July 2008 est.)
3)
No problem here so you're doing it wrong. :)
9) Again you're doing it wrong. right click on the file -> properties -> permissions -> allow executing this file as a program

Yeah, ruining the web for everyone who's not using IE.
There is no way you could screw up painting a wall..
Says my OS is unsupported. I wish companies wouldn't (like Google) just block off your access all together like the IE only websites used to do.
Yeah, I could probably edit my browser's user agent for this one game however I've already lost interest.
That's interesting however I don't see it as a saving.

Not true.
Try asking builders to stay up till 3 am in the morning on a Sunday to finish paintwork because the carpet is being put in Monday morning.
Unless you think painting is some expert skill of course..
