    1) If I don't have STEAM on my other computer I can not play it.

    You don't need two computers to play a game on steam so your requirement of having steam on your other computer doesn't make sense.

    2) If I am not connected to the Internet with my other computer I can not play it.

    Based on your comment history I seriously doubt that'll be a problem for you.

    3) If Valve goes belly up I can no longer play my games

    Yes you will because people play pirated steam games today, right now.

    Well according to the article there's no DRM involved so I assuming you can still play the game.

    More mass and less people means it's cheaper to dig up the ground to lay down fibre. I poorly explained this point in my previous comment, however that's what I am trying to say.

    No I think the MS-PL have patent waivers as well which is why they didn't just go with BSD in the first place.

    I say "i think" because I haven't read the license since it was first published.

    Is that the license OSI approved which got a lot of flak because it says the source can only be run on windows or did they remove that use clause from their OSI licenses?

    I don't keep up to date on such things so I am generally interested.

    You're correct, BT is the main problem, however my point is that there are more people in the UK then there are in Norway and you can't just dig up the road then put down last mile fibre without it being very expensive.

    Then you do what Mozilla does and put it in this-feature-mozilla so when the standard does come along you don't screw up the web with your unstandardised features.

    MS breaks standards because, GASP, there is a business case to do so

    Yeah, ruining the web for everyone who's not using IE.

    Says my OS is unsupported. I wish companies wouldn't (like Google) just block off your access all together like the IE only websites used to do.

    Yeah, I could probably edit my browser's user agent for this one game however I've already lost interest.

    That's interesting however I don't see it as a saving.

    You might spend a lot of time in your garage so it's worth it but for me I'd rather have something that runs my computer which I believe 45 Watts won't do.

    Try asking builders to stay up till 3 am in the morning on a Sunday to finish paintwork because the carpet is being put in Monday morning.

    Unless you think painting is some expert skill of course..
