I think your elected representative is a person just like everybody else. If you try to play mindgames with them they will stop wasting their time on you. If you spend 5 minutes and hit "post" in an email to them, they will ignore you, just like they should. You would ignore an annoying disturbed person. Why wouldn't they?

If you want to know what they think, look at how they vote. If you want to have a conversation with them, then go and do so face to face.

Exactly, we should trust the scientific method skills and lack of ego of the author. The peer reviewers are mostly middle man who stay in power by doling out access to the places where its hip to be cool. I've seen peer reviewers eat tons of fudge while sensitive little cure grad students with tiny little egoes don't get squat. Remember, authors have a whole stack of porn and XXXXXX that needs to be stroked.

Yes, firing someone is a difficult decision, but you can bet your ass, that when it came time for their own review they said they were doing a good job and deserved more money just like everyone else did. And that raise they got could have saved 10 workers, or in extreme cases like those Disney assholes, basically all of the employees in the company.

So I don't really feel sorry for those poor rich SOBs. And you know what? I bet you they don't feel to sorry for the people they have to get rid of either. Don't build relationships with the animals, as the animal researchers always say.

The whole culture over there doesn't even recognize the concept of "taking responsibility for your own actions". Why shouldn't the US pick just one random talker and hold him accountable.

I think the money issue is kind of tricky.

You see, one can only put a value on actual property, not on information. That means that one can only protect property, since that is the only thing that has value.

The GPL attempts to treat information as property. One can not sell or buy information. One can only sell thin air and hope that some loser pays you for some noexistent property than he now thinks he has.

So you see, the GPL really protects "information" from being shared freely - exactly the opposite of what RMS wants.

So let them change the licences all they want, it doesn't actually affect the con job necessary to get the money from the customer.
