I wish their app pricing was a little less expensive. At this time the iphone app is $10 and the desktop version is $40. And you need to purchase both to support your passwords on both devices. If they would provide a bundle deal I would be more willing to purchase.
There are also compatibility issues among manufacturers for specific formats. I burn DVD-R and have had users have read problems with some manufacturers and not with others.

Yup, you are correct. But, using "remote_host" may not work if your server does not have a reliable reverse dns lookup. Also, it can add additional overhead because of the lookup time. Therefore, banning by IP is better.

Now, forgive me if my math is wrong, but I know that approximately 4 gigs of hard drive space is used when I download approximately 20 minutes of video
Here's a good reference for calculating disk space for video capture:
http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/6076.htm
In summary:
The DV standard of 720 x 480 video with 5:1 compression requires 3.6 MB/sec and 4.63 min/GB.

Sure, but for a majority of web users, a simple blogging application is the way to go. And because these easy-to-use blog apps have been provided, that's why they have become popular.
Sure, they will stick to their high morals until they need to get cheap labor up in space. For example, when it actually gets to the point where we need laborers building a lunar station. Hmm, wonder if the unions have already considered the issues with that?
Palm's support for developers has really gone to crap. For example, I tried to order an update to CodeWarrior through their on-line store. I began receiving e-mails indicating it was backordered. This continued for 2 months. I then received an e-mail from a MetroWerks salesperson soliciting an upgrade. I sent a reply indicating I had ordered one through Palm. MetroWerks replied that I should cancel that order and just order through them and I would get it right away! Why would Palm not be able to fulfill the order? I couldn't get an answer. And this is for the IDE recommended by Palm.
When I first saw the exoskeleton in Aliens I instantly thought, "that's awesome". Then I wondered how soon we would begin seeing that technology become reality.

This article takes me back to a previous job and one of my co-workers. He was fanatic about removing all 'noise' from his office. His PC being the most evil of all noise makers.
He went to the trouble of locating a 6V power source in the PC and then rewiring the fans from their 12V source to the lower power.
The PC was also wrapped in various forms of egg crate foam to reduce vibration and further dampen noise.
When he started complaining about the flourescent lighting in the building we had to warn him that no re-wiring was allowed!
True but it does have a powerful integrated editor.
I use Together along with JBuilder. I would use Together by itself but JBuilder is the standard for our project. Cost being the primary reason for this choice. It's just too expensive to outfit a team with Together.
With this combination I use Together to do design, modeling, on-line documention, and some editing. JBuilder fills the role of editor/debugger. I have used Together's IDE features and they are on par with JBuilder's.
I would recommend outfitting a team/project with at least one copy of Together for the lead designer/architect and then JBuilder for each developer.
So people should now grab a copy of the code before Apple has a chance to squash it. The more the better since that increases the chances of derivatives.
On the other hand, the Aqua UI may become passé and people will be flocking to the next UI flavor.
Here are scans of an Erector Set Parts Catalog. They are posted on the Ohio State University College of Engineering site so maybe someone there is using them for a course.
Or perhaps mounting 'communal' stations at some place that occurs ever 100ft (Telephone poles, bathrooms, mailboxes)?
That sounds a lot like the Ricochet network. Now that Metricom/Ricochet is bankrupt, maybe someone can acquire all their boxes and put them to this use.
working in teams while in school is unfair to the better (not necessarily brighter) students
Unless the purpose is to educate the students on working in teams. My first experience on a team project was an eye opener. In particular, it taught me to be more aware of what others claim to be doing and what is actually produced.
And yes, when one of our team members didn't deliver and screwed our grade, I wanted to bludgeon them for talking the talk but not walking the walk. I didn't and therefore proved I had learned something from the course!

See the above comment: Cyveillance in a nutshell
You need to block it's IP:
# CyveillanceRewriteCond %{REMOTE_ADDR} ^63.148.99.(22[4-9]|2[3-5][0-9])$
# FILTER BOTS : 403-Forbidden
RewriteRule ^.* - [F,L]
Hard drive speed/access time would be a big factor for use with video capture. Too slow and there would be loss of frames during capture. Not good.
Maybe the larger sized small footprint drives aren't fast enough?

Create a TOMCAT_HOME as above pointing to c:\jakarta-tomcat-4.0
This should actually be CATALINA_HOME. The TOMCAT_HOME var was in the older versions.
The RUNNING.txt file included in the distributions contains the installation steps and, yes, they are very simple.
