  1. Re:Bypassing government via international treaty on Names of Advisors Cleared To Access ACTA Documents · · Score: 4, Insightful

Well, our current Senate will rubber stamp anything, including passing a bill to grant a representative to Washington D.C, in complete violation of the U.S. Constitution (on and on top of that, TARP, Stimulus, Omnibus spending, etc.)

Don't expect the current Senate to do anything that might possibly weaken their power and political contribution base.

For quite some time now, the Congress and Senate have not served the good of the U.S. citizens. And, they have constantly violated their sworn oath to "support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic...."

Next election cycle: Each and every Democrat and Republican currently in office should A) not be re-elected and B) neither of the major parties candidates should be voted into office to replace them, vote "some other party or candidate" into office. The Democrats and Republicans are hell bent on completely destroying this country. Wake up people.

And, for your information, I do not support either of the two major parties, Democrat nor Republican. As a whole, they are both hell bent on doing anything to stay in power and damn what is actually right, proper and in line with the U.S. Constitution.

I do not want Obama to fail, I want his inflationary massive-debt increasing policies and actions to fail. Because, if they do not, it will be the end of the United States of America and I do not want to see this country falling apart as a result of his idiotic policies.

I repeat "... having a responsible centrist president...."

Obama is no where near your description, by any stretch of the imagination.

He has continually lied (earmarks, no lobbyists, "most responsible, transparent and ethical administration evah"), nominees that "Doh, I forgot to pay my taxes, sorry!" including our new Treasury Secretary (tax cheat).

Obama is a train wreck that is happening to this nation with the train wreck still in motion.

The next three to four generations (if not more) are being saddled with mountains of national debt that will be the end of what was the United States of America.

So, next time you doing your Obamaton chants ("O-bama, O-bama", "Yes, we can! Yes, we can!"), you might wanna go take a walk and look around and contemplate the devastation Obama perpetuating on this country.

Unless saner heads prevail on the financial and economic scene, this country is doomed.

Not only that but, 23 years ago (may still be the case) some (or maybe all) California counties/cities had a similar thing for sales tax differences in other California counties/cities.

    1) You live in county X.
    2) You buy a car in county Y.
    3) After a while, you get a bill from county X for the difference between the sales tax in your county and the lower sales tax in county Y where you bought the car.

    Yes, this happened to me.

I sent them the bill back stating "There is no way I am paying this bill. Have a nice day!" I never heard from them again.

Of course, some uppity county official could have dragged me into court, but it never happened, no lien was ever filed, etc.

It wasn't a lot of money. And, I didn't even go to this other county to buy the car because of the sales tax difference. I bought it in county Y because they had a ton more dealerships there with a much larger selection compared to the county I lived in. Yeah, the prices were better also.

That's right, right back into government or the semi-private sector.

Nothing really changed in Russia after the break up. Sure, some loosening of things related to property rights and similar things.

Witness Putin's rise to power, former KGB, assassinations of journalists, etc. Same old, same old.
