I believe Admiral Rickover actually had an English degree from Annapolis. At one time a liberal arts degree prepared one for a wide variety of careers.
Airports are no place for children to play silly games. Thank goodness airport personnel "over reacted" when terrorists crashed a vehicle at the Glascow airport recently.
I was in Toronto in early 1974 while the tower was going up. I was there to teach Canadian National Telecommunications personnel how to set up timing equipment using an oscilloscope to view LORAN waveforms. The class started at 8:30. Just after 8AM the welders up on the tower would strike their first arcs on top of 1200 feet of rebar and the LORAN signals would disappear below the noise level. I asked the class to come in the next day at 7:30 so I could show them the proceedure. They acted as though I was asking to date their wives. Their day started at 8:30, period.

Isn't that the stuff the Chinese sent us in wheat gluten that's been poisoning dogs around the country?
I remember trying to help my wife with some Microsoft lunacy on her computer when the dog appeared to me for the first, particularly inoportune time. I muttered some obscenity, and she exclaimed, "OH! I think it's CUTE!". That's what sells Windows.
15 Megawatts is 26,800 horsepower, or about one jumbo jet. It's probably mostly for air conditioning the servers and personnel in the hot Oklahoma summer. Are you going to turn off every large business that has air conditioned facilities? Ground all the airlines? Just throw the switch on the internet, or at least ban all the porn. That ought to free up some power.
The cell towers near me have sizeable equipment enclosures with air conditioning. A solar array, with batteries for nightime use, big enough to run such equipment will pay for an awful lot of ten-cent kilowatt-hours.

It's a shame there isn't a hydrogen electrolysis facility nearby to take the power when the normal users can't be reached.
I believe we had one of these at Texas Instruments still running in the early 70s.

When it was discovered that some Chevy built engines were put into Cadillacs they sued the hell out of GM.
