As the light blue is only keywords, they stand out like a sore thumb, but that is what I wanted. If I am just reading things, I would like a green on black as seams to be popular here. My bigest complaint where I work, I can't change things like that on the computer I use. Bad IT, don't let me change my colors to be more pleasing.

Basically, it's a course designed to impart the skills generally necessary for a fulfilling life in a modern society. I started off with Sex Ed., gun safety, spread out to basic liability, contract and criminal law*. Not falling for scams, whether it be real world or internet. Practical budgeting, house purchase procedures, etc... In areas where it's necessary, how to properly do laundry, basic healthy cooking**. Basically, what stuff is good to know, doesn't take a whole semester or more dedicated to teaching it, and at least possibly isn't covered by existing courses, as I'm sure some rearranging could occur.

I know for one, that when I went to HS it was required I took Home Ec., Shop, and PE. It was either the next year or closely after that all 3 classes were shorted or made optional. I all ready knew a lot about cars, woodworking, and other things taught in shop. I didn't know how to do foundry, but do now as well. That class was aimed more at the females in my HS. The flip side can be said for the Home Ec. class. I had to make various food dishes that you might make in the real world, and how to read recipes. I can't cook well, but I can read a recipe now, and survive as a bachelor; saves on fast food garbage too. I also made a sweater that I never wore. I haven't used that skill at all, but think it is good to blanket teach as well.

Adding more updated skills, such as Sex Ed, and internet usage are important to the role. I had a Heath class that was required, and I didn't really want to see that "live birth" or "Cesarean" on the video, but it did educate me. Also, some simple money management skills would go nice in your life skills class. Basically, I agree completely, and from what I know about my HS, they have steered away from this type of class as being a requirement. I don't know the reasoning, and it would be nice if parents taught this to there children, but as a society, we do need to have a baseline, or we can end up as bad as I understand it has gotten in England. Teenage drinking [news.bbc.co.uk] is becoming a problem.

I always figured it was a dead ploy to get you to overly buy the next one. If I think and compair ME to Vista, both seam overly graphicly inclined, and bloated to me. I look at 95, well unfortently it was a large leap of faith. I don't fault them to much for that one, as it was a completly diffrent idea for MS at the time. 98 streamlined 95, although proved bad because of continued hacking. SE made 98 rejuvinated, but don't consider new OS. XP IMHO has been best advancment for the whole OS line.

I ended up having to install keyboard drivers to fix the sound card (they both used USB and conflicted). If that isn't as far from easy to use as you can find, I don't know what you expect. I also ended up being forced to use the wrong sound drivers as well. I use a C-Media on board sound, but to get the mic to work was far from plug the mic in and it works. Windows blew on that one, and I about tore my hair out. I also found that when searching the problem, virtuly everyone with my mother board and hence sound card had same problem. When new hardware comes out, OS is always behind. For a lot of reasons I'm moveing to linux, but I don't know if I consider windows that much "easier" to use with all the problems I have had to deal with over the years. An OS is an OS, and none are easy.

I'm not sure, I find that I type my password with same "speed up in sections" that you find when you type regularly. Now, that is based that I never look at the keyboard, and I type from touch. My password is also strong IMHO, it is over 6 chars long, has upper lower case, numbers, and symbols. I have been using it close to 3 months, so am about to change. But I find after the first week or so, I will start typing it in rhythm. If you are typing something that requires you to switch back and fourth on the keyboard (s.w..i..t..c..h) you will probably hit the keys on the same side faster. Small words also come out faster for most people who use touch typing. Double letters will be hit fast, and there are numerous other things that happen if you really think about it.

This would be terrible for people like my father. He uses two fingers (refuses to change) and can't spell to save his life. There is no way a hunt and peck person could use this and be ok. I guess the end result, if you're a security freak like me who makes sure his password is longer than 6 chars, numbers, symbols, and letters using touch typing it might be fun. If your like my dad who uses two fingers and (I hate to admit, cause I don't know) probably has his password taped to the bottom of his keyboard it wouldn't work. Just my 2cp.

I wish i rembered the web site, but think it was posted on /. at some point. Basicly it is how they decide speed limits. They take the average speed of the road and subtract 10. They found that if you raise the speed limit above the average, most still don't go faster (some always push it). People will drive what they think is safe on the highway. I'm not talking surface streets, that is difrent. They also stated that 55 is not the optimal gas speed, that was just to get more tickets as most are acustomed to 60 and they could grab more price ones that ran the average 65, 70 (I'm talking WA state here). So basicly, the whole things said speed limits are purely for money, only 10% will drive above or below the average safe speed. I personaly think that can be true, as when I go north and the speed limit turns from 60 to 70, I rarely go up to 80. 70 is fine, as I end up driving from 65 tp 70 depending how heavy traffic is anyway.

After the hotspot has been registered, 5 more pull on at next on ramp and sit at next "turn around" (They are every so often for emergancy vehicle use). Bang, they get the first 5 unsuspecting people who speed up right after a trap. Most everyone speeds up as soon as they pass a hotspot assuming that they are clear for at least a few miles. So if they have 5 sitting and waiting untill the hotspot is set, than pouncing on 5 unsuspecting speed-upers. . . Abusing the system to there advantage. Yes the hotspot will get updated after this, but if you can get 5 right off the bat, your not doing bad. If it is found that this cat and mouse dup system works, they can than deploy where ever they want. If they do want you to slow down, you will create an evan larger slowing down area.

If you are given a certain sub set of rules, use them and make it work for you.
