Any chance this is why the coffee for asthma remedy is supposedly effective? Perhaps inhaling the vapors for a bitter fluid are doing just what they described here?

My thoughts exactly! As an asthmatic, I have found myself often alleviated by coffee. My assumption was that either the warmth or maybe even the caffeine was responsible.

Can it be why just the smell of coffee makes me feel better?

I'm surely paying more attention in the future. *Goes get more coffee*

Well, my 8 year old has a school card since 1st grade with a pin number, remembered since day one. And yes, it can (among other things) be used to check out books from the school library.

Killerinstinct's FAQ was the first big file (over 60k iirc ) i ever got from the internet, November 1995, and yes, i know what you're thinking, that was BEFORE searching for porn. Really. It was.

Odd, my PSP suspends whenever & where ever I want it to.

I've had my PSP reset on power up more than a couple times, specially first couple months i had it. Maybe it was the game/UMD fault. I remember Pirates Gold as the worst example, Tony Hawk's close second. Or could it be just firmware, and it got better. Or maybe the unofficial battery? I bought one of those "double capacity" batteries after ruining my official one converting it to Pandora (by clipping a leg off a chip).

I've had my PSP for 2 years now, daily companion of a 15/25 minute bus ride to work. I can recall a couple games that made me walk into my office still playing, none had me dedicate that time for fear of losing a save game or having to replay some area. Suspend works every time unless you turn the device off while it's writing to the memory stick. I can pick it up on the way back home, right where I was.

On topic, I rather have 1 good game at a time and play it to exhaustion (any good game, from Puzzle Quest to God of War) than having to play a bunch of them just so I feel like I'm leeching my monthly rental fee.

The advanced Psilons surely could use their black hole generator or even the devious Darloks who likely already stole the technology. Maybe next will come a giant space crystal life form. Perhaps with our ion drives (moves 6 parsecs per turn) we can soon escape the solar system and make some serious headway towards becoming the MOO.

If we had just saved enough for your planetary reserve, I'm sure our scientists could research a way to destroy the asteroid in one turn.

There goes my productivity for the day... installing dosbox now...

  8. what will you do with it? on In-Home Wireless Vs. Mobile Broadband · · Score: 1
I actually have both. From my experience, you can survive with umts/grps only if you have very low online requirements. If all you do online is check your email, read some web pages, basic low bandwith stuff, you'll be fine. pptp login is sufferable when there's no alternative, gaming is a big no no unless its turn based. I've played WoW between meetings, most of the time with a red lag bar and a few disconnects.

    Short version:

IF all you do with your online time is low bw stuff, get the umts/grps dongle. you'll be pretty happy with it. ( at home you can get a small server to share the connection wireless )

IF you want to game or p2p, or vpn to work, forget it.

Maybe reception/service is better where you live, try it first anyways.

Problem is, most people who think the whole "swapping is bad" thing are windows users

That's because windows did such a lousy job at managing swap files in windows 95/98/ME that "Disable Virtual Memory" was a common procedure. with obvious disatrous results. you'll still find hundreds of "tips and tricks" pages that recommend it if you google.
