ok here:
Hypothesis: Mysterious trail is from scheduled flight.
By definition, the hypothesis is a contradiction: Something that is scheduled could not be mysterious and appear in the headlines.
From the news: "A lot of people saw what they think looked like a missile launch". Is this possible if this was a scheduled flight? If it's a scheduled flight then people would have probably seen it before.
I kind of understand this after watching a documentary about particle physics and other stuff on Discovery Science (the one with Morgan Freeman). I always thought Discovery is BS, but they did explain this one quite nicely!
For the first minute I was happy to see the slashdot effect on this site, but on second thought isn't this just a way to get advertisement? I mean how ridiculous can they be?
Would someone tell me how this happened? We were the fucking vanguard of children's projects in this country. The OLPC was the project to own. Then the other guy came out with a Two Devices Per Child. Were we scared? Hell, no. Because we hit back with a little thing called the 2 Devices and an iPod Per Child. That's 2 devices and an iPod. For music. But you know what happened next? Shut up, I'm telling you what happened—the bastards went to four devices. Now we're standing around with our cocks in our hands, selling three devices and a strip. Music or no, suddenly we're the chumps.
it's well documented that staying active in the workforce is good for the brain, at least when compared to the sedentary tv-filled days of most retirees.
at 10 on earth you are constantly travelling with 1021.7837 mph (1644.4 km/h). For an alien living on a much slower planet this could be insane! Also, the speed of our solar system within the galaxy is about 220 km/s. Point is, life could be anywhere. It adapts.
there exists a Carhenge?! I can see this 1000 years later:
tourist 1: hmm, they must have been using this wheel to calculate the time of sunrise or something...
tourist 2: indeed, amazing technology they had. I wonder what these numbers show in front of the "main" seat. Must be some kind of a galactic compass!
tourist 1: woah...
If an event is sure, then it will always happen, and no other event can possibly occur. If an event is almost sure, then other events are theoretically possible in a given sample space; however, as the cardinality of the sample space increases, the probability of any other event asymptotically converges toward zero. Thus, one can never definitively say for any sample space that other events will never occur, but can in the general case assume this to be true. In this respect, the concept is similar to that of a mathematical limit.

how disappointing. The most famous tech-forum in the world and all you have to suggest is use the other hand?
I guess somebody has to ask this question again in 10 years from now.
Indeed, I was expecting to see some kind of innovative idea, but the latest product of Philips is a lamp with an alarm clock?
So the universe doesn't allow this to happen because it's a paradox and that would mean the end of the wo
Oh, the Shuttle Launch is delayed... Sorry, wrong thread.

Wait a minute. Zoom in on the reflection of that Rolex...
I was scrolling this thread for a CSI reference just to post this link:

Well, fuck it. We're going to five devices.
yeah, and then the world will end!
omg! for a minute there I forgot that I was reading /. and I actually thought some interesting points for improving maybe some algorithms...
Thanks for bringing me back to reality.
someone mod this up. don't underestimate your intuition.

Great! Now the French goverment have their motto!
I'd wake up in the middle of the night uncomfortably warm. Not cool.
We know that uncomfortably warm means not cool, thanks.

yeah you can imagine all you like, but the guy made some reasonable thinking before acting. Is he insane? no. Smarter than you (and most of us)? yes.
Dear Dogbertius

this is a father and son project and the news attribute to the excitement.
you don't have to criticise everything.
adding to that, "almost impossible" sounds good to me.

You won't find a whole lot of people even concerned until they start whining about illegal aliens within our borders and the aliens taking our jobs.
