Why does it matter that they think you're a criminal? To the eyes of a shopkeeper, everybody is a potential shoplifter, they're just protecting themselves. Why don't you look at it like they're asking you instead of demanding? You're fully in your right to say no and walk out the door, they can't do anything about it unless they have reason to think you're stealing. They can ASK anything they want, it doesn't mean you have to comply. Do I want to live in a world where store owners think you're a criminal? No, but I understand why they have to. The day where they have the legal right to detain me for no reason is the day I start worrying. In the mean time, I'll just exercise my right to not shop in a place I don't feel welcome and it's as simple as that.

I remember the time when I liked Best Buy.. I just walked in there, picked up a DVD player, paid and walked out. I went back there recently to buy a digital camera and will never go back. First I had to negotiate my way out of a warranty with the salesman to even get my hands on the camera. This actually took a good 3 minutes even though I repeatedly told the guy I didn't want it, I just want the camera. I'm guessing they get bonuses based on how many warrantys they give out so they're pretty aggressive and essentially try to play mind games with you and it actually works judging by how many people I know that eventually cave in. Then you have to repeat the process at the register but they don't push as hard since there's people in line behind you. Warranty? no thanks, how about a Best Buy credit card? Nah.. then of course the bouncers at the door who don't even really check to make sure every item on the receipt is in the bag.. they're just there to intimidate you. Alot of people happily buy at these places but not me.. the only person that I actually deal with these days is the UPS guy and he's a nice guy.

Well you could say the same about security cameras. Why do they need to put security cameras up if I know I'm not a theif?! How dare they! It's not an assumption of guilt, it's called preventative procedures. If they want to accuse you of stealing then they will accuse you of stealing.

  5. Re:RTFA on Man Arrested for Refusing to Show Drivers License · · Score: 1

Uh, no.. if an employee actually saw you shoplifting then they can accuse you of shoplifting and the store is within their rights to detain you until the police come. A receipt check isn't the same as accusing someone of shoplifting and they can't detain you for refusing a receipt check. Receipt checks are just a way for them to deter shoplifting, just like those alarms placed next to the doors... it won't prevent you from stealing, but will deter potential theives.

you've obviously never bred or trained dogs.. if cloning were perfected then you can train each dog the same way and get the same result. With normally bred dogs even from "top notch" pairs you will still get only one or none dogs out of the litter that qualify.

Holy shit way to get off my main point... These discussions always seem to devolve into arguments about semantics rather than the main point at hand.. bottom line, if you hate japanese people yet like all other mongoloid races you're a freakin racist.. Whats so goddamn hard to understand about it? The definition of race isn't black and white like you would like it to be. one of the def. of race: A group of people united or classified together on the basis of common history, nationality, or geographic distribution: the German race. Does that apply to me referring to the Japanese as a race? Yes or no? If yes then stfu and get back to the point if it's at all possible for you to do which I seriously doubt. GATO

Why should the government be responsible for your own failure to get a decent job? I pay about $500 a month for my family's health insurance. It's nothing. I can easily spend that much on dinner for a few friends.

Go to Cuba if you want a doctor that ashes his cigarette into your wound while he works on you. I WANT my doctors rolling in money, we have the best doctors in the world bar none. You want the best, you have to pay. I watched SICKO and got SICKO from watching all the losers whine about how they can't hack it in life. You're 70 years old, if you haven't saved up enough money to retire and live a comfortable life, then something is seriously wrong. Forget healthcare, just kill yourself. You're not fit.

Goes to show you don't know anything about Japan. I lived in Japan for 5 years until 2005 and have personally known several women that have been molested on a train a couple of them even experienced it more than once. It's called "Chikan" and there's a ton of porn specifically marketed towards it. I was also shocked when I found out that child porn is legal over there. Manga comics depicting child rape and even magazines with explicit pictures of girls as young as 8 is completely legal... it's insane. What I found even sicker was that in those magazines there's advertisements for sex tours to cambodia and thailand. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the people that go to those countries to exploit children were Japanese.

The thing that sucked the worst was that he was one of the few hard working employees we had and it took us weeks of busting our asses to recover.
