For those that do not knowingly experience 'cracked' linux boxes (re: not knowing everything to look for), articles like this are a great way to learn from others. Kudos to 'lars' for sharing his findings with the world and reminding us all that security is an evolving process.
Talkety does not use VoIP to connect to the iPhone, but a call back mechanism that connects two or more phones via normal phone lines. VoIP is only used in between. You will still need the AT&T contract to use Talkety
1. Most VoIP platforms are run over UDP; the browser is TCP.
2. The browser would need to access the mic hardware; Flash has a Microphone object in actionscript but it needs to be used with a Flash Communication $erver. Javascript, to my knowledge, has no native access to the mic.
I thought I was pretty good with dozens of system installs of Redhat 6 through 9 but it wasn't until I got through a couple of Gentoo installs that I felt my linux skill set was worth a damn. Say what you want about Gentoo but as a Linux learning tool, there is nothing better. Their documentation is first rate and much of what you learn by installing Gentoo carries over to every other Linux flavour.
Amen to that. Although I am a huge fan of Linux, my experience with Palm's support is terrible. I have 650p that has had the speaker (ringer + speakerphone) fail. The bluetooth radio does not transmit any longer. And sync'ng with a Mac is cumbersome at best. I want my blackberry back.
Trinity logged into the Power Plant with SSH in the Matrix Reloaded; err while jacked into a simulation so I guess she really didn't type her way in now that I think about it.
hrmm..
"I don't know if there's an equivalent of apt-get for OSX, I haven't looked..." Here is your equivalent: http://www.macports.org/

You are still using windows? OMG when are you going to get up to speed and run Linux
Sure but the question remains, why are they not running Linux?
And when a plane goes off the runway? Sao Paulo yesterday, Air France in Toronto...
