    I believe NATO invokes section 5 in case of a "conventional attack". Otherwise US and NATO as a whole is in perpetual war with Russia, China and all others not in NATO and not allies of US. Since informational attacks are considered espionage...

    People like me.
    I have a stationary PC, a laptop and a netbook.
    All my communication, news and reading is done almost exclusively on a netbook. In fact, I am typing this on my netbook, with my PC playing a movie on my dual monitors.
    I also use it to watch GoogleTechTalks when on the cycle in the gym.

    I thought that undemocratic and oppressive regimes are bad. Communism is not inherently bad, it's a different economic system opposing capitalism.
    Should I remind that there are religious communists in the heart of US - the Amish!!!!

    FYI: Extreme poverty and high gap between the poor and the rich, lead to communist unrests. Specially in a country that many people gained their wealth via the corruption of government.
    And China is NOT US. Communism is not that foreign to them.
    On a side note, communism is US is closer then you think. Remember that the amish are basically communist, though religious.

    Please tell me; why should people work for the betterment of the whole of human society rather than for themselves? Why should people do things that do not benefit themselves?

    Reality! You cannot achieve anything individually. You may have a illusion, in your current society that you can. But reality is that, much like the animal world*, we have to be a community to achieve ANYTHING.
    Imagine, that Newton would think the same way as you. We probably wouldn't have much of what we have now. Einstein, was not a billionaire, but his theories were already applied in his lifetime. And most researchers work to better the life of society.
    You would probably think otherwise, if your family was touched by such illnesses like cancer.
    By your logic, why shouldn't the research companies charge 10 million USD for cancer drugs? Really, why? You would go to the "end of the earth" just to live, so why should they give it to you for such a measly sum?
    Why should anyone share their knowledge in any way?
    * - See the lone insects and mammals vs organized ones, ants and bees, what they achieve as a community.

    Being a "team" player is in self interest of every smart person. Since every smart person knows that he/she cannot do everything on his/her own.
    The stupid person, views self interest at a reptilian level - all for me, none for everyone else.
    Oh. And BTW, Christianity is the ultimate form of religious communism. Problem is that it has been transformed so much from it's original form, that most of the original ideals were lost.(Read about how the first Christians were organized initially. Sample: the last supper and similar practices)

    NOTE this does NOT mean I am claiming Apples are overpriced, just that you can't turn an obsolete PC into a perfectly fine linux server or desktop.

    A: You shouldn't be afraid to say it. Even Apple admit that they produce a premium product(read overpriced, as in the cashew nuts in hotel rooms)
    B: You actually CAN turn an obsolete PC into a Linux server/desktop.

    Unless you are ready to pay for an Apple branded netbook same mas for 2 or 3 Asus EEEPCs, Apple has no chance in that market. Remember, that Apple is a "premium" company.

    FYI.
    License is a permission to use.
    The code is always proprietary. Since proprietary means: "... one having exclusive rights".
    Under copyright laws, a copyright holder has exclusive rights, unless the copyright holder gives away or looses those rights.
    Now, GPL does not cancel copyright, nor is it an agreement to give away those rights. Contributing code to a OSS project, at maximum can be interpreted as a sharing of copyright, aka joint copyright.(Compare OpenOffice Contributor Agreement for explicit defintion vs Apache CLA of just licensing)
    I am an IP consultant in EU, but not a formal lawyer.
