Holy shit! Get an IdeaPad S10 in RED or a pink MSI Wind, you'll be striking conversations with normal girls also!!!
Granted, they will think you are gay.
Interesting. Any HP or DELL comparable notebook will bitchslap any Apple notebook on price. In EU they go by, at least, 500 Eur cheaper than a comparabel apple one.
A Samsung will go as much as 800-1000Eur in difference. (And Samsung gives longer default warranty - 2 yr vs 1 yr for any Apple branded)
HA! Try Rational Software Architect with WebSphere Portal and DB2 Enterprise 9.1 with Java procedures.
WebSphere Portal installation takes incredibly LOOOOOOOONG. Like leaving it over night and coming back to the installation with 25% left!!!(Hint 75% in 16 hours)
IBM is starting to do much better in that area. Still there are a TOOOOO MANY of bureaucratic procedures and HR is the worst enemy of any person at IBM.
Please see sample of Rational and Tivoli after acquisitions - product releases STOPPED for a few years. Java has already 2+ years between major releases. With IBM acquiring Java in form of SUN, we will get the next version of Java when the next version of WebSphere can use it - meaning more than 5 years between releases.
Let's begin with the fact that in Java space IBM is one of the 2 largest software suppliers(other one is Oracle). Lotus Symphony is based on OpenOffice. Lotus' ODF capabilities are based on OO.o.
Though MySQL, PostgreSQL, Netbeans, Glassfish, Open MQ, OpenESB and Project Mural are basically doomed. And the rate of new JVM's and Java versions will slow down to nothing for the next few years.(Sample Tivoli and Rational after acquisition by IBM)
At the end I see MS as being the dominant development platform provider for the enterprises, maybe even for Unixes and Linuxes.(I wish to welcome the new versions of VisualStudio for Linux. And MS.NET runtime for Linux.)
WTF are you talking about? IBM has never sought to defend any of the developers, just their asses. There is a ton of systems that are running Linux internally. Could you imagine if they would have to pay up? The whole thing was never about Linux, it was about defending their OWN clients with Linux servers.
Oh puhlease!
IBM is not that active with OSS. With some exceptions: Linux kernel and Eclipse and limited Apache Geronimo.
And BTW, having internal knowledge, I can say that IBM is not only not supporting employee's wishes to participate in OSS projects, but there is active bureaucratic discouragement.
IBM is like a small country! Really. There are more IBM employees then people in Iceland.
So, if some companies got hit by a salesman that had only sold Windows based solutions, it only shows that IBM is starting to loose control over enforcement of their strategy.
And Linux IS their strategy. They are trying to go the whole way. But still there are people at IBM itself, that do not know what is Linux and actively resist it.
As they done it before, they will just BUY their way in. They will have competent people. They will have good products. The question is, will they beat the giants there. Cisco is big and strong. It is also not a mega giant, like HP or IBM or even Fujitsu. Cisco has basically only one revenue stream - networking equipment. For HP and IBM those servers are not their main product, but it's their centrepoint product lines. Will Cisco be able to separate their main networking division and goals from their new server division? On that depends their success.
Last time I checked women had this thing. What's it called? Ah... yes. Maternal instinct.
Really men don't care about the children. Only on psychological level.
OMG! WTF! Wealth redistribution is NOT A HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION! Neither is communism(otherwise you should bomb your Amish population). Read up on human rights, because your misunderstanding is showing.
Get you facts right, man!
- S. Osetia is a breakaway region. There were peace-keepers. Mutually agreed peace-keepers. The first to launch a massive military attack were the Georgians. The attack was provoked by a lot of issues. Two of those: a militant Georgian president and Russian "nudge" on the rebel side. The main Russian point is if Kosovo can have independece, then those should have independence too. That is what they meant by saying that Kosovo independence is a dangerous precedent.
- Ukraine issue is a simple one. Money! They payed for the gas, but they payed late and needed to pay the interest that was outstanding by the terms of the contract. After that they simply decided to use some of the transit gas to power the turbines AND THAT is WHY Russia cut the gas. It was a political move to force Ukraine to sign a contract based on a formula, same as all other countries DO. Please note, that the "MOST HATED COUNTY" by russians , as per the article, had no ISSUES with gas supplies! Even Georgia got supplied with their energy needs by Russia!
- As for that guy, what's his name. Damn shame that he dies that way. Do you really think that people in russian special agencies are THAT stupid!?!?!? Polonium is a traceable chemical. Getting it into UK is quite hard, except when local MI6 can transport it without any issues. Or are we mislead about the quality of MI6, by James Bond movies? In any case, it would have been much more productive if they would have taken down Berezovski instead of this nobody. And since there was so much publicity about it, it is highly unlikely.
- In Russia main TV channels are state run or symathetic. In fact there are more independent newspapers in Russia then in US! You can basically get any viewpoint that you wish when you are at a newstand.
- The lives of the journalists are lost moslty by hands of mob members, that have corrupted officials in their ranks. And a lot of deaths of journalists are due to revreling the corruption by the mob. Least likely will a journalist be killed for exposing the elected officials. And there are a lot of mobs operating in Russia.
- Russia, in fact, is a country that acknowledges that there are issues on that front. However, not only Russia has that problem. A finnish person may outdrink a russian any day of the week.(No offence to finns ment) There are a lot of countries that have bigger drinking issues, then Russia, i have seen them first hand. Russians are known, however, to be quite loud when they drink. So the main issue is NOT the drinking, it's the fighting when drunk. And unfortunatelly you still can buy a toxic bottle of vodka in russia. And that is the biggest killer of young men, not the amount of alcohol, but quality.
The parent post is exactly why I blame both Estonian government and Russian minority.
Estonians FAILED to communicate. Really, miserably failed. And they are failing every day. And therefore basically alienating those people.
There are better examples in the Baltic states.
Estonia fails at communication and Latvia fails at education. Lithuania succeeds at both, mostly due to a millennium of integrating different nationalities into the sate successfully.
The reason for failure? The ruling elite believes that those people are obliged to listen to them, and therefore they, the govt, does not need to do anything about it. If they made an effort, or even acknowledge the fact that they need to communicate better, a lot of issues would go away.
Actually, people KNOW that the economic catastrophe in Russia was orchestrated by the very same people that will be running US in this crisis. The result of the 90's were the oligarchs. The lawlessness that they rose on. Putin is viewed as the bane of oligarchs. Talk about the irony.
Facts are facts. Violence breeds violence.
The other fact is that there are people that actually honor NAZIS. And there are Estonians that actually ran those deportations.

Radical anything is BAD!
When you are making the future, it's hard not to predict something that is in you own plans.

That is DB2 Express-C. And it's a really good product.
IBM is starting to do much better in that area. Still there are a TOOOOO MANY of bureaucratic procedures and HR is the worst enemy of any person at IBM.

Dropping MySQL would be a STUPID move, while PostgreSQL would benefit incredibly.

Last time I checked IBM's annual report, they had more revenue from software then services.

I believe that is achieved by removing half of your brain :) Right half. Leaving the lying left part in.

Well, that is not the image they are trying to promote.
Same here. Can't use standard earphones, since my ears are unusual and don't hold these things in.
Nope. He's actually on a double dose this time. Because, there are some words you can understand :)
