    Disingenuous? Why? It seems to be a pretty accurate description of working with multiple versions of Office. I'd have thrown in Word Perfect, too. I always have to deal with Word Perfect files from lawyers. Thank god Open Office opens them.

    Free would be nice, at least. Unless you're a business that already uses exchange, setting up an exchange server is kind of an expensive solution.

    This is exactly why I never want to move everything "in the cloud", or in to Internet services for that matter. Locally ran applications are there for a reason and things like this

    Things like sharing the content with others? Personally I find my desktop is one of the worst places to store my docs if that is my goal.

    No one has an inherent right to force an inventor to reveal his invention to the world.

    Nobody suggested we force them to do anything. They can keep whatever they want secret, and I can copy whatever I see. That's the natural order of things.

    It's easy to blame the victims of predatory lending, but it's primarily the fault of the lender. The mark should have known better, but that doesn't excuse the con man.

    If you want accountability, you need regulation. You can't regulate an illegal activity. When you make something illegal you give up the ability to control it.

    His buddies were the loan shark, and cutting him off was their way of breaking his legs. They're nice, but they're still loan sharks. IMHO, it's mostly their fault for letting him gamble with money he didn't have.

    Small and simple is generally really hard to extend. Magento is designed to be flexible and maintainable, not small and fast.

    The big selling point for the enterprise edition is per-website/storeview administration. With that functionality you can sell hosted stores, or limit employees to only the websites they are responsible for. The rest of the features are just there to pad the list. Most of the missing features are available as modules from Magento Connect.

    The Gap uses it. That's pretty sizable. They actually have a pretty nice implementation.

    Yeah, but if they do it in secret then ratify it, it won't really be law. Turns out the government can't enact domestic laws simply by signing treaties - or if they try they won't necessarily stand up in court.

    This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding.

    If you are trying to minimize the cost that the rest of the population has to pay when a motorcyclist gets in a crash, then simply have the motorcyclist pay for their own medical treatment rather than subsidize it.

    Motorcycle accidents cost insurance companies less than car accidents do. Motorcycles do less damage to cars, they cost less to replace, and the driver is much less likely to need medical treatment as the death rate is 25x higher than car accidents. Motorcyclists already pay with their lives for the increased danger, which conveniently lowers costs for the rest of us.

    It's not meant to replace all the drupal modules. It's just a collection of apps. There are plenty more out there. And yes, I have used quite a few pinax apps in actual projects.

    Microsoft lets you install unsigned code as well. Signed code isn't nearly as big a problem, unless they're signing keyloggers and spambots. It's still a problem, but nowhere near as bad.
