Moore's law has nothing to do with the size of the transistors. It has to do with the number of transistors, and their cost. If you fit the exact same number of transistors for half the cost, Moore's law holds just as true as if you doubled the number of transistors for the same cost.
That's nice, but Google Chrome has NoScript and CookieSafe built in. The Firefox devs refuse to offer that, so Firefox is always going to have a bloat issue compared to Chrome.
Did you seriously just claim that less built-in features = more bloat? By that logic emacs is less bloated than nano.
It amazes me that he ever made any sort of a living as a "comedian", given that his entire "funny" schtick (yes, I read his books... *shudder*) is calling his political opponents foul-mouthed names
You do realise the man was one of the original writers for SNL, right? He didn't get into political comedy until his comedy career's third decade.
We already do cap & trade. What they want is to star cap & trade for CO2. Considering the success we've had with SO2 and NOx trading, can you really blame them?
This is exactly the global cooling referred to in the 70s. It didn't come to pass, though, due to the Clean Air Act. Sort of how banning CFCs slowed the growth of the ozone hole.
If we're in a car speeding toward a wall at 100 mph, and I say we need to hit the brakes or we'll crash, and we do, would you then complain that the wall wasn't really a threat?
Parchment and goose feathers? I have my scribe carve the comments in cuneiform into clay slabs.
So Woz was paid what he was contracted to get paid? I'm not seeing the problem.
I hear he was pretty likable before he started Apple with Woz. Not so much since then.
Moore's law doesn't say they'll fit in the same space.

Konqueror has had tree view since KDE4.1.
How do you group related windows together? That's sort of the point of tabbed windows.
It won't be shipping until Fedora 13 comes out. Nice to know it's in the repo, though.
It's not so much a positive review of Kubuntu, as it is a positive review of KDE 4.4.
Which of those is shipping KDE 4.4?
It works fine on BSD, too.
I know Kubuntu is the redheaded stepchild of Ubuntu, but you should try out Kubuntu 10.04. I don't know how I lived without tabbed windows.
Franken wrote weekend update when Kevin Nealon was hosting it. Quit the show when they gave the job to Norm MacDonald.
BTW, the prices are in Euro but Slashdot can't show the symbol when I type it ... this is quite embarrassing for a geek web site.
It's not Slashdot's fault that UTF-8 doesn't support the euro symbol.
You're confusing opera mini with opera mobile.

Deficit spending is constitutional.

. Who told you it was one of the coldest, and why would you blindly believe something so hard to believe and easily falsifiable?

How about we just make it illegal to attend a terrorist training camp and arrest those who do? Last I checked, convicts have their own airline.
Why not test with data that is identical or near-identical to read-world data?
Into a pneumatic dremel. It runs off my air compressor and is like 10x more powerful. You should see the Amish guy's blender. It can blend a brick.
You probably don't actually NEED Photoshop. Few people do.
