    Moore's law has nothing to do with the size of the transistors. It has to do with the number of transistors, and their cost. If you fit the exact same number of transistors for half the cost, Moore's law holds just as true as if you doubled the number of transistors for the same cost.

    It won't be shipping until Fedora 13 comes out. Nice to know it's in the repo, though.

    It's not so much a positive review of Kubuntu, as it is a positive review of KDE 4.4.

    I know Kubuntu is the redheaded stepchild of Ubuntu, but you should try out Kubuntu 10.04. I don't know how I lived without tabbed windows.

    That's nice, but Google Chrome has NoScript and CookieSafe built in. The Firefox devs refuse to offer that, so Firefox is always going to have a bloat issue compared to Chrome.

    Did you seriously just claim that less built-in features = more bloat? By that logic emacs is less bloated than nano.

    It amazes me that he ever made any sort of a living as a "comedian", given that his entire "funny" schtick (yes, I read his books... *shudder*) is calling his political opponents foul-mouthed names

    You do realise the man was one of the original writers for SNL, right? He didn't get into political comedy until his comedy career's third decade.

    This is exactly the global cooling referred to in the 70s. It didn't come to pass, though, due to the Clean Air Act. Sort of how banning CFCs slowed the growth of the ozone hole. If we're in a car speeding toward a wall at 100 mph, and I say we need to hit the brakes or we'll crash, and we do, would you then complain that the wall wasn't really a threat?
