I think this is a naive comment. A lot of us don't have time to not mix the two. I can work, or I can exercise. I don't have time for both. Since I don't get paid to exercise, guess which one doesn't happen? That's the appeal of standing or walking while working.

You're not completely wrong, however. I set up a walking workstation for when I program at home. I found I needed to stop and stand whenever I encountered a difficult issue. It was truly a surprising development. I cannot think as hard or in the same way walking as I can sitting.

It may be there's an adjustment period, and the problem goes away in time. I don't know. Never got that far...

I've tried SpiderOak a couple of times because the client-side encryption is a massive selling feature.

However, the interface is convoluted, to say the least. It's frustrating to have this massively complicated application to just synchronize a directory, when Dropbox, for the most part, doesn't have an interface at all. I want to point SpiderOak at a directory and forget about it. Unfortunately, I can't. And after several weeks of worry (and several lost files), I always end up back at Dropbox.

Why not? Copyright is one of those things that has been with us for so long that it has begun to sound right. But the evidence suggests the contrary. Please google and read "Against Intellectual Monopoly" for a comprehensive discussion.

    Here's my suggested fix:

Move away from rating things +1 Insightful... to a simple "Agree or Disagree". Give a bonus for rating up or down posts that haven't been rated yet.

Now, and here's the neat bit, allow people to filter the posts according to the best rated posts they agree with, and the best rated posts they disagree with.

This way people will be presented with argument and counter argument, instead of just group-think.

Wuala have stated that if two people have the same file encrypted, they will deduplicate them. This means that the encryption is not unique to each user. There are several attacks possible based on this knowledge. More information in the Wuala user forums.
