I would imagine that things that go through the spam filter and get dropped in your spam folder probably do not get as closely looked at. You would not have opened it and spam folder empties itself every week or so.
Also the case could be made that you technically didn't possess it, google did since you never downloaded it to your computer.
Just prohibit non-practicing entities from extorting money via patents.
If you have a patent for a better process for making widgets and you arent in the business of making widgets then you dont get to harass widget making companies.
Exactly... if you have 2 people working 60+ hour weeks then you really need to hire another person. Except that business doesnt want to hire more people because they're cheap bastards.
Despite all things pointing to the fact that overtime hours (more than 40 in a week or more than 8 in a day) contribute to reduced productivity. So those hours that people are getting paid 1.5x their pay are actually the hours they're usually least productive... If only the bean counters would realize that.
Also if they did that there might not be a huge unemployment issue.
Do you know how nasty some of those toilet cleaning chemicals are...
There was a story recently of a school where some girls got chemical burns because they sat down on toilet seats that had been cleaned with these chemicals. Now imagine being exposed to those chemicals day after day.
Actually the logic involvedin 'find them both guilty' in this case is legitimate.
In Canada if a group of people say go rob a bank and one of them ends up shooting the rent-a-cop and killing him everyone can be charged with murder because they were all in on the original crime of robbing the bank.
Except the burden of proof in a criminal case is on the state... So they're the ones that should pay for this regardless of the outcome. They're already willing to blow millions on court staff, judges, prosecutors, etc...
I mean think of all the court cases where the governments run people into the ground by dragging their heels and racking up legal expenses for the person who may be innocent.
Yeah ban US tourism there and people of the rest of the world will flock there because they wont have to put up with stuck up american tourists;) look at Cuba, it has a thriving tourism sector despite not having US tourism based solely on that fact alone because it certainly aint the food that's doing it
Unless he gets extradited to the US which given how NZers and the world responded to how the US went about this including using foreign intelligence agencies to prosecute a civil court matter... I really dont think it's gonna happen.
Best way to avoid prosecution on some matter is to stay out of the reach of those who want you. Particularly if those crimes are minor or non-existant in the eyes of the public. Many people who arent of the MAFIAA persuasion believe he's the victim and that is hard to overcome even with the big media's propeganda machine.
I'm sure that applying encryption would count as 'DRM' of sort... and under many DMCA like laws breaking any DRM scheme is grounds for a prison sentence:)
I am sure glad you can account for homocie numbers by the drop in guns...
What I'd like to see is the overall homocide rate... Because when people get angry enough to kill they often switch weapons to those available like knives and such.
Tazers are less lethal, they still kill a small number of people hit with them... (despite what Tazer international says).
That said Tazers should occupy a space between physical brute force (like beating the suspect with a stick) and shooting the suspect... Basically if you'd consider using a gun then a tazer option should be open.
After all if it wont fire people will just use it as a bludgeon to beat someone to death instead and it'll still be declared a gun crime so the gun control nuts can still have statistics on their side.
Also what happens if someone tries to shoot a midget? The gun might think of them as a kid, so a midget on a shooting rampage might do even more damage.
Early Childhood Education, Paramedics, Nursing, Personal Support Worker (Helps old people in homes), Social Worker, immigration, etc...would be my guesses based on personal experience. Not sure if the numbers are there but those are mostly traditionally female dominated fields to begin with.
Or instead of setting the bar for your daughter to marry some man who went to college/university... You could instead encourage her to marry a GOOD man instead. A good man does not necessarily need to have a PhD, be a brain surgeon or rocket scientist or computer programmer...
It could just be a good man is a college dropout who realized that getting a bachelors, masters or PhD in Computer Science is a waste of time because those types of jobs are going to be outsourced to India and instead picked up a trade and went the apprenticeship route in something like Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrician... You know jobs which cant be sent to India and dont require a huge amount of brains, just common sense and a good work ethic:)
No matter what time or what era you live in it's always possible for a woman to find a good man.
Well you should incorporate in some manner of speaking...
The Pirate Party of Canada operates as a NPO (Non-Profit Organization). Also whatever structure you use would have to make sense for your situation. Inc, LLC, Corp, Ltd, etc... are just ways organizations use to communicate that they are a legal corporate entity...
If you're a NPO or charity you can use terms like 'fund', 'charity', 'institute' or stuff like that.
And yes I'm part of the Pirate Party of Canada, glad to see you're getting that problem fixed:)
Do you really think a legal firearm owner is going to go out and shoot someone on the sex offender list? With a gun that is registered to themselves? Unless it is a self defence case where someone is trying to rape them or their kid in which case I dont think a jury would convict.
That said I think the Gun Owner map should come down. It just makes a convenient list of homes for criminals to target in order to steal firearms by making it known those people possess firearms in their home. This sort of information should remain private between the individual in question and law enforcement. There is a difference betwen information which should be public (IE. There are X legal gun owners in New York) vs stuff which should be private/confidential (IE. John Doe of 1234 Main Street Apt 12 has an AK-47, A Glock 9mm and a shotgun).

That's amazing. I've got the same combination on my luggage.

I wish I had mod points for this comment :D should be +5 Funny IMHO
Or spoof the signal as coming from 0,0,0 (center of the earth) and brick all guns in the area...

Well timed sarcasm is usually pretty good :D
Ok everyone we're going to talk about our periods today...
Sorry couldnt resist injecting a bit of sarcasm.

What... You have the time to protest every single bill they write up? I dont. I just have the time to protest the ones important to me.
Just goes to show how important the internet is to everyone.
I'm being pessimistic but they'll eventually wear people down by continuing to introduce similar bills until people are desensitized to it.
Only they'll epicly fail to someone with a unibomber complex and doesnt even use the internet.
