Sorry, was responding to wrong person but you can just switch Google with Mozilla. Mozilla has their share of software issues, for sure, but nothing even remotely bad as Adobe's track record.
Integrated PDF reader. The code for this is still included for emergencies (i.e. when you need to read a PDF but don't have access to a reader) but disabled by default - you are always recommended to use a separate, up-to-date document reader for PDF files (as an external program, not as a browser plugin) for your own security, and to have documents displayed in their fully intended format instead of a stripped-down display in an in-browser reader.
This is Linux's Big Chance. People will reject this massive barefisted amoral invasion of privacy and flee- if they can get a decent computing experience out of some UNIX clone.
+5 funny. In fact, funniest statement I've read all week.
You must be extremely egotistical to think that your personal disinterest in the GP's personal disinteret in this project is worth declaring to the world.
Which isn't what GP was talking about. GP was talking about being able to block the HTML5 content like can be done with NoScript. Bugs in the HTML engine is an entirely orthogonal thing.
It's a prototype device for software development, not a shipping product.
Wrong on both accounts. The MX4 has been a shipping Android phone since September of last year. The Ubuntu phone is the exact same hardware.
It might have a substandard battery.
It does't. GSM Arena stated about 16.5 hours talk time, ~14 hours web browsing and around 9.5 hours for video playback. For the time of the battery benchmarks it was no worse than most other phones.
Such problems would not stop its deployment as a development device. It could be any of these problems and it's pretty pointless to speculate further.
A few years ago you would be saying "You basically have two major players in mobile OS, Symbian and BlackBerry OS. I don't see that changing..."
Actually prior to the iPhone there was really only 1 major player. Which was Nokia with near 70% global market share with Windows Mobile and BlackBerries taking about up 11% a piece.
In hindsight, it's now obvious that Linus should have used his position of leadership and influence to put an end to systemd earlier, for the sake of the Linux community. It's also obvious that a major distro like Debian should not have switched to systemd, as the process of doing this fractured its community beyond repair.
Why would he have done that? He may have issues with the way the developers work and a few things that systemd has done, but is overall not against systemd. As he stated in the interview responses:
Yeah, I've had some personality issues with some of the maintainers, but that's about how you handle bug reports and accept blame (or not) for when things go wrong. If people thought that meant that I dislike systemd, I will have to disappoint you guys.
So it doesn't seem "obvious" at all that he should have done that based on his own statements.
As long as the PDF reader is disabled, no.
Because people want to view PDFs in their browser and Google's reader is far more secure than anything from Adobe.

Who do you trust more to create software with less security holes: Google or Adobe?
Cool story, brah.
It's disabled by default.

This list isn't even exhaustive and it's far more than the 4 choices you claim are all that exist.
So, what is your point again?
They're trying to say their e-penis is bigger.

The cure is worse than the disease!
He wasn't kicked out. He resigned before he could be impeached. He was then pardoned shortly afterwards.
We haven't applied enough pressure on our government, and as such it is not responding favorably to our polite request.
That's because most of us aren't billionaires and/or have a Super PAC.
Instead, he indiscriminately handed sensitive national secrets over to a foreigner,
Glenn Greenwald is a "foreigner"? Since when?
Silly plebe. Laws only apply to the little people. Not those with wealth and power.
"and — importantly — accept the consequences of his actions." Isn't whistle blowing legally protected from retaliation?
On paper, but they've already wiped their ass with it so they don't care much.

Except it's not a development device.

If you are going to be a butthead don't do it anonymous coward....
Says the big man AC making threats.
Where's the results of the ABX test you took to prove your claims? Numerous ABX tests over decades have backed up what the GP says.
Not enough audiophile rubes.
Since when has security ever been anything but an afterthought when it comes to *groan* IoT *groan* devices?

Just ten or twenty years ago a sitting politician saying this in a "democracy" and expecting to keep his job would be unthinkable.
Oh really? CALEA is 21 years old in the US and yet neither Bill Clinton nor anyone in Congress lost their jobs over it.
