Not saying something for fear of some group of asshats using it as an excuse to kill people is being a coward. These people would have killed even if the film hadn't been made. It was nothing but a convenient excuse.
Just because Google can do what it wants doesn't mean it is above criticism for its actions. Any racist shitbag can spew whatever racist nonsense they want. At the same time, I can call them out as a racist shitbag all I want.
You're joking, right? Anything that says that piracy is good is going to posted here since it confirms the groupthink. No matter that the study itself says that the shutdown had an insignificant effect.
If you really wish to confirm the issue, try looking at box office records pre and post internet, or even the VCR. The numbers I've found are pretty impressive.
Why would they have needed to migrate to Office 2010? Office 2003 with the compatibility packs can read and write the newer office formats with the same UI that they would be familiar with. Also, Windows 7 can be made to look like XP rather trivially. Seems they are just inflating the costs of the Windows side to make LiMux look better.
1) You could have been using it during the long public beta. 2) Windows 7 can be made to look like classic Windows with themes. For the typical office worker this would have been more than sufficient. 3) Switching to Windows 7 does not require switching to Office 2010 as Office 2003 works perfectly fine on it. And all you have to do is install the compatibility pack to get support for the newer Office formats in 2003.
So basically if their report claims that switching to Win7 requires buying new Office licenses then they are simply inflating the costs to make LiMux look better.
Since you can't have been Proficient in Windows 7 until it was released in 2011,
Windows 7 was officially released in October of 2009. Also it would have been quite easy to have been proficient in Windows 7 prior to release due to months-long the public beta.
And an idiot trots out lame excuses like this. Some tools actually do have defects and are broken. Being able to spot that makes you a much better workman than the excuse maker.
Then point out even a single source file that has that "or any later version" in it from the kernel. Also, the overarching COPYING file for the kernel does not have the phrase in it which would be invalid if any single source file did include it due to the "You may not impose any further
209 restrictions on the recipients' exercise of the rights granted herein" clause.
Yes, total PR disaster. I remember being unable to pick up a newspaper or turn on a news program without hearing the outrage. I'd be walking around on the street or in a store and everyone was complaining about how evil Zenimax was for their takedown notice.
If the university suddenly found themselves blacklisted from media reporting everywhere, they would change their tune quickly.
In fantasy land they would find themselves blacklisted. In the real world, there will be plenty of people who will accept the conditions in order to pick up the readers the other outlets will be losing.
You just know realized that college sports is a big business? Welcome to decades and decades ago?

Because maybe many people realize that not everyone learns the same way? So while this may be great for some students it won't work so well for others who need and want more hands-on style. It's completely overblown to say that it will replace academia totally.

It doesn't, but I and the EFF can use their free speech rights to criticize them.

The question asker isn't timothy...
The Jar Jar Binks, The?
Real world studies show that Windows users don't have too difficult of a time with Unity.
Real world studies done by anyone other than Canonical?
Troll? In what way did I troll? All of what I said was completely true.
No, you have the study people even admitting that the effect was insignificant.
We find that the shutdown had a negative, yet insignificant effect on box office revenues.
So basically the article and the submission are overblowing what the study itself said.

Adjusted for inflation, yes?
I can only hope you're joking...

Bad workman blames his tools.

Wait, what?
*facepalm*

Yes be stupid and drive readers to your competitors. Brilliant plan.

Hardware patents make up a huge chunk of those listed patents and they are valid outside of the US.
Probably to prevent the auto manufacturers from driving the independent dealers out of business and being the only source of buying vehicles.
