  1. Brand reliability on Ubuntu Dell $50 Cheaper Than Vista Dell · · Score: 1

When one goes to buy any product one will usually choose a brand name that is familar and reliable to oneself over a less known brand name and will at most times pay more for this product. Obviously most people have not heard of linux and if I didn't know what it was I most likely would not choose it over a windows product which I had used all my life.

Our government has some serious problems, when piracy is seen as a more worse crime than a
bank robbery. Physical crimes should take presidence over intellectual property crimes.
Although it could be worse as in we could have a government policy were in all crimes
were treated with a death sentence regardless of the intent or severity of the act.
Some may say that the death penalty is to severe and no crime is deserving of death.

Why does it matter that Ubuntu can validate as a Genuine Windows install?
Personally, I dont have any desire to download software from Microsoft.
They have sloppy code and operate under a flawed philosophy, Were in linux
has a multitude of projects that thousands of people are working on. If one
does not like a project they can start there own or download a different one.

  5. The inevitability of colonizing the galaxy on The Impossibility of Colonizing the Galaxy · · Score: 1

I think that the colonization of the galaxy will occur eventually in order for the
human race to survive. This will of course have to be motivated by an economical
incentive such as resources or a considerable amount of compensation. This will happen
regardless whether FTL travel is accomplished or wormholes are utilized. Space
colonization will probably occur at the same time as the singularity(for people that dont know what that is check wikipedia).

  6. Black Holes on The Impossibility of Colonizing the Galaxy · · Score: 1

I've always wondered if Black Holes could be utilized for FTL travel.
For example we could find a black hole and manipulate its event horizon
through quantum mechanics, And change the event horizon to include a vessel
or shuttle. This shuttle would then move toward the black hole at a speed
equal to or more than the speed of light. In order to avoid being sucked into
the black hole one would have to either move the black hole away from the ship
or use quantum mechanics to shrink the event horizon out of range of the shuttle.

Reagon was a great president, he was not afraid to take charge and go against those who
threatened the United States. He also was in support of funding scientific research, such
as STAR WARS, although it did not take off(no pun intended), Back then we simply did not have
the advance capibility our computers had today. Personally, I believe that STAR WARS is working
now but our government has not informed us, In the interest of national security. In closing
Reagon is not to blame for any slump in the U.S. scientific research.

Microsoft operates on a capitalist philosophy where in they buy out their competitors, the only reason apple is still around is because microsoft can retain their virtual monopoly on the commercial operating system market, how many people really use a MAC?. Open Source operates on a completely different philosophy where in members of a community help each other to build good software that is constantly being improved. It is my personal opinion that Microsoft has nothing it can learn from OSS because it is a capitalist company(list most are), and releasing their code for improvement would surely kill them.

  13. Developing closed source on Linux on Closed Source On Linux and BSD? · · Score: 1

It has been my observation that developing closed source software for linux does not work. As most of us know Linux has a significant community of users that will develop a open source alternative to your closed source software. It is not beyond the average linux user to find open source equivalents to closed source software. The real question should be why pay for something if you could get an equivalent item for free(legally of course).
