  1. Lol Halo 3 on the list! on Games Industry Things We Should Leave Behind in '07 · · Score: 0

I can't believe someone like MTV are agreeing with me on this: Halo 3 was WAY too overhyped, and ended up coming no where near good enough with all the hype. It's bad on a corperate level to put SO much hype into "new" products, then come out with a monopilized, overcharged product. Even the "ARG" for Halo 3 sucked.

Linux has OpenOffice, that does everything Microsoft Office does! I've been using Linux for about 2 years now, and I'll never go back to Windows or Mac! I think Mac OS is being designed for fancy GUI and ease of use. Windows was a copy of Mac's idea, and Linux is an operating system that is designed for security, stability, and customization. While the GUI could use some fine tuning for regular computer users, Linux is still an excellent OS for the people who are willing to take the time to learn how to use it.

Did anyone see the Xbox Live status at xbox.com/support? It says "Status: Users may experience intermittent issues with login, account recovery, matchmaking, and statistics. We are aware of the issue and are actively working towards a resolution. We apologize for any inconvenience.". Reminds me of a classic Microsoft joke: A helicopter was flying around above Seattle yesterday when an electrical malfunction disabled all of the aircraft's electronic navigation and communication equipment. Due to the clouds and haze the pilot could not determine his position or course to steer to the airport. The pilot saw a tall building, flew toward it, circled, drew a handwritten sign and held it in the helicopter's window. The sign said "WHERE AM I ?" in large letters. People in the tall building quickly responded to the aircraft, drew a large sign and held it in a building window. Their sign said, "YOU ARE IN A HELICOPTER." The pilot smiled, waved, looked at his map and determine the course to steer to SEATAC (Seattle/Tacoma) airport and landed safely. After they were on the ground, the co-pilot asked the pilot how the "YOU ARE IN A HELICOPTER" sign helped determine their position. The pilot responded, "I knew that had to be the MICROSOFT building because they gave me a technically correct but completely useless answer."

Some cooperate CEO gets to decided what we can see on television, and if they don't like it, they got the big CENSOR button right next to them during live TV (Fox and Verizon). If someone at an ISP doesn't like what he sees online, he can get it pulled by putting whoever owns the site under legal pressure. Censorship is the evil of the 21st century. I think we give them what they gave us: $1,000,000 per person affected by the RIAA, and an additional $9,250 for each law they broke in the process. The RIAA are getting pwned! :)

The Internet should be a place where people can talk about themselves and how they feel about something without the fear of legal action. I figured they would close everything in a matter of months. Too bad though, they were the only retail chain I have ever heard of that sold Linux stuff (at the time, I had dial-up, so downloading the latest Linux distro was always a big problem).

Just for kicks, I just checked to see if I can get DSL, NOPE! For 3 years I have not been able to get it. The way I see it, Comcast's customer service is the holy grail compared to Verizon: I got 5 different reasons why I can't get DSL. Finally I got the right one: you MUST live within a mile or two of the Verizon centeral offices. Guess what? About half of my city does not live that close!!! What a trainwreck for large cities or cities spread out geographically. I still have Comcast, and am considering calcelling it. Why? I CANT DOWNLOAD LINUX DISTROS FROM BITTORRENT!
