In a city where everyone is looking for places to park, if people know that they can get free parking in front of an apple store, they will. It will be next to impossible to find those spots freed because people who work in the neighborhood will take them before any customers could, and they will stay there all day. Then comes the issue of enforcement, which is a nightmare unto itself and will create more issues than the money apple is willing to pay is worth. Not to mention the fact that it gives other companies license to request the same thing.
It sounds like a really good idea without the common sense. I can understand why the city would respond negatively.
Its been around for ages... probably the first form of expressive art. Soon, people will only make music for the love of it. Saying its an apocalypse for music is like saying the printed press was an apocalypse for writing. Its just going to change things drastically.
The 'future' is in cellular phones and PDA's. Soon you will not even be able to buy a computer with a hard drive on it. It will all be done through ram with user settings that are downloaded wirelessly from either a phone or a database on the internet.
This isn't quite the innovation some people seem to think of it as. This has been done a few times in the past (I can't for the life of me remember any of the names or find links (sorry)) and hasn't really ever done well. Expect to see some spam from time to time in your favorite music related forums (if you have any of those) and then not hear from them again.
Looking at the sheer number of people who use google, its still going to have minutes ranking higher than most of the other search pages, and its still probably going to have minutes higher than most other websites.
Seven years ago, I remember using musicmatch and having serious issues with it. I guess it was ok, but I can't see someone saying 'whats not to like' about it, much in the same way there was nothing to like about quicktime or realplayer.
Well said. Likewise people worldwide would go to the united states to make money because the amount they were able to make compensated for the hassles of having to live and work there. Now that the economy is so weak, and the immigration standards are much tighter, the US is going to notice less and less of these brilliant people (doctors and scientists, amongst others) finding their way in.

I think they are just criticizing the cellular provider of this PDA that has been a hype machine for the last year. The subject of what you are going to read is advertised in the topic. Why did you click on it if it was obviously going to make you mad? Don't need to go around calling people idiotic for holding a legitimate discussion.

No, there will always be someone else to take advantage of the hipster crowd that both don't know how to use a computer and need a lifestyle boost. Just so happens the two things that apple are good at - making things look nice and making themselves look good - work very well for these kind of people.
