Borland has always released a C++ version soon after the release of their Pascal compiler/IDE product under Windows (first they release Delphi and then C++ Builder), so it shouldn't be any different under Linux.
What's neat is that Borland uses the same compiler for both their Pascal and C++ IDEs, so there is not a lot of reworking on their end and you can use both C++ and Pascal in the same project.
Remember that back in the Fidonet days, we Sysops had to pay for uplinks to other Fidonet nodes that were long distance from our BBS or our link to FidoNet. It wasn't always free. I would always absorb most of the fees since doing the BBS thing was a hobby, and that was just part of the deal.
I want to setup a wireless LAN myself, and wouldn't mind paying a small amount to an ISP. However, that can only go so far with limited use.
Just goes to show that corporations believe they are above the public law. They can impose fines just like the government, without any due process or respect for your rights as a citizen because they are a corporation.
The government lets this go on since it is private business, but the corporations have us over a barrel. They control our credit, howe we work, a great deal of our lives without regard to the protections that our laws give us that the government has had to follow.
Now that corporations take over more and more the daily part of our lives, the very existence of our ability to live, our freedoms and protections will decrease since they are free from these messy due process, constitutions, and the like.
This guy suggests that we should launch a class action suit against Earth Link. Come on, this wil only fill the coffers of lawyers, Earth Link will get a slap on the hand, nothing will change, and you may see a $5.00 check in the mail for your troubles. There is nothing you can do, they are a corporation, above the law.
"away from the prying eyes of mission control." is misleading. It was not that mission control was disapproving of such a project. They couldn't bring up a pre-made table because the Russians felt it was a low priority and would cost to much to put in orbit.
So, they guys up there built one themselves and unveiled it to mission control as a suprise. They also did it so that they could work together on something, since they are separated into workin on their own national's modules.
I thought my little BBS would be lost in obsurity, but there it is! Thanks guys for keeping the historical record of digital communication before the Internet age! It was a lot of fun back then tinkering around with communications.
Didn't we (US Slashdot Folk) revolt against England because of unfair taxes without representation? Well, the corporations have decided to levy taxes based on "intellectual property rights" which have ballooned over the past several decades like never before.
What will be the next Boston Tea Party against the corporate taxes???
That is the reality that we live in now. Just look at what corporations can do to silence people, local governments, state governments, nations when it doesn't fit into their single cause to make a profit. Corporations have only one purpose to make money. They don't care about people, nations, things that we as human beings hold dear.
Suppose if I wanted to have a romantic kiss with my wife, should I be subjected to someone watching me?
--Well in North Carolina, where I live, I would be arrested if the cameras were installed in my house because I'm gay if I tried to do that. America the Free? BullShit, and becoming even more so as time goes on.
I think what it will do is to create competition in the market instead of keeping the current monopoly in place.
What should happen is that we need one centralized database that is Free (Free as in free of monopolistic control) and open to any company (or single individual) for registration. A non-profit world-wide organization to handle the centralized database for all domains would need to be in place.
The registration companies will then need to compete as service companies, giving value added service to those who wish to pay for the markup. Just look at RedHat. The operating system is Free, but RedHat makes money by making it easy for people that are willing to pay for the added service. (I'm trying not to use that overused buzzword Open******)
I keep both a running DSL and Cable modem line into my home running at all times. If one goes down, the other is always bound to be up and running. I have to keep connected so that I can connect to our email, database, and source code files for development for work.
Now, if I could just figure out a way to use both connections at the same time! (or at least have the firewall switch to the one that was working if the other one failed)
It sounds like RedHat has starting getting ready for their next Beta Release. They have started shuffling things around on their ftp server, supposedly getting ready for another Beta Release. Anyone heard anything about this on when? I'd sure like to get my laptop to work with Linux soon:)
I have now laid claim to the creation of life. Everyone who pollinates, conceves, or attempts to bring life into this world must cease or pay up. Sorry guys, but hey I have to take advantage of everything I can in America. An if it means getting the slighly intelligent Patent Office to give me a patent like this, then it is my duty to my shareholders to do it. Gosh, even Microsoft does it.
I have a right as a corporation to be a leech on society. It is what our country stands for. The rights of the corporation outweigh the rights of the individual citizen. Right?

Why do straight people have to make out in the middle of the frozen food section of the grocery store, flaunting their heterosexuality in front of us all?
One credit card company decided to "write off" a debt of thousands of dollars to my name on my credit report. A thief had stolen "credit card checks" from my mailbox and had cashed them without any problems. When I found out that the police had captured her with one of my checks, I immediately called the credit card company to inform them of the issue. They said that everything would be taken care of and I was only responsible for up to $50.00. A few months later (and still today, 8 years after) they demanded that I pay the money, even though they knew the money was stolen. It's still on one of my credit reports and I can't get the Credit Reporting Agency to remove it.
The credit card companies don't care about their customers, they don't even want to prosecute credit card fraud. We don't have any rights as consumers. We are just that, consumers, not human begings!
...with a programming newbie. It has all of the simplicity of Visual Basic with the power of C++. We do all of our development in Delphi becuase you can rapidly devlop fast and reliable programs without complication.
After they get their feet wet with Pascal, it should be easy for them to learn C++ or any of the C++ programming IDEs out there on Unix and Windows.
Did anyone notice that the gamemuseum.org domain that was suggested in the article was gobbled up one day after the article was written? Wonder if the register will actually do the right thing or is just an opportunist.

Does it matter to whom he was speaking with? If people are arrested for talking to particular people, we have a problem in this country.
