In the past, travelling or just going out has meant carrying some combination of my Palm Treo, my Sirius Stiletto, my TomTom, my PSP or my Zune (never all at once, mind you). The iPhone has already made going out and staying on the grid WAY easier for me, so I'm very much looking forward to the TomTom iPhone car mount.
Now the only piece of tech I'll need to keep around is the Stiletto for long road trips.
I'm 100% in favour of this mobile convergence that's going on. If there's one space that *NEEDS* convergence, it's the mobile space.
I've never used Zune Pass.
I understand the difference.
I bought the music, and it was taken away for completely retarded reasons.
Going in, I understood that what I was buying had DRM and my usage would be restricted, but I never in a million years thought that the rights would just be taken away.
As for understanding the Zune marketplace, you don't.
Read up.
Every cent of that subsidy would be better spent on any other program.... schools, prisons, science... anything but this.
This country has so many bigger problems than people being able to watch TV. That competition panel taking longer to make a decision over a satellite radio merger than it took to decide to invade Iraq is another symptom.
This just infuriates the hell out of me. No decent citizen with half a brain would've approved this subsidy, this is lobby pressure...we should rename this country the United States of the National Association of Broadcasters.
Don't know if you're into RTS games, but Universe at War is coming out for PC at the end of the month and the 360 just after the new year and it will support cross-platform.
The reality is that the PC players will probably stomp the 360 players because RTS games are just WAY faster with a mouse/keyboard than a controller.
The problem with THAT is you're supposed to learn the basics of your class on *YOUR* time, not on the 10/20/25/40 other-people-in-your-raid's time.
As it sits, this is kept to a minimum (not a zero, just a minimum, which means the majority of players are at least somewhat competent).
It's hard enough now to put together a guild of competent players...if you make it even easier to breeze through the lower levels, you reduce that pool and make guild-forming even more slow and painful than it already is.
I think what they've done is a decent compromise.
Yes....because anyone who criticizes the slightest little thing is actually a commie bent on the destruction of America and they should all be routed out and deported so that everyone left over is a shining, happy example of studly, Grade A American beefcake.
Actually it's more slanted towards WW1. Remembrance Day in Canada is on November 11 which is the anniversary of the end of WW1. Really the poppy is worn as a symbol of remembrance and appreciation for all our war dead, and for tracking the movements of foreign officials traveling in our country who appear to be completely mentally retarded.

Never ever not even once.
It was purchased, then taken away.
Microsoft jacked me like Tony Soprano.
It's not the computer. The computer is fine ... I'm on a filesystem driver project right now and trust me, my hardware is solid.
Oh ... and my filesystem will NOT become completely unfunctional for a day, like all Zunes worldwide did this past New Years Day.
BTW ... ./ is a submission system. I submitted the story and it was voted up. ./ doesn't "troll Facebook" for material.
And yes ... I blame Microsoft for stealing my money. Who else would I blame? You?
