To be fair, a few folks at VA have made personal offers to clear up this mess. Had I not faith in VA/Linux, I'd have cancelled the order long ago. However, I'm being assured that I'll have a machine by Monday morning, so we'll see how it goes...
While I can see how growth/etc. can make things tricky, that's no excuse for pissing off ANY customers. Word of mouth is very important advertising.
I've been waiting on a machine for about five weeks now. Gotten one excuse after another. I've had it with them, and will *never* order anything from them again. Stay tuned for a full review on the site (Everything Linux).
Matter of fact, the fourth or fifth "delivery date" (the latest one) was supposed to be today. It's after 5pm. I don't have my machine. AGAIN.

Had a rippin' time. Lotsa T-shirts, bought Civilization and Red Hat 6.0. Learned a bit and met some people. Schwingin' party the last nite. Cool Mug.;>
With all these distros, did anyone expect anything less? I mean, it's cool and all to have different distros and choice - but at what cost?
Umm, check your/etc/blah file.
It's not there.
What distro are you on?
Um, BigSlacker7.
Err...
It's going to end up like different flavors of UNIX, all over again. If we at least maintain a standard filesystem (STD?) then we're in some better shape. The kernel is the kernel is the kernel. The apps aren't so relevent - you can put them anywhere - and should be standardized somewhat as well.
There's also Linux Coffee Talk - a forum with well established regulars, a quick turnaround time and open to all Linux based discussion. Been up and running for over a year. Everyone welcome.:)

Hey y'all! See ya at the Expo! Woooohoooo! Any parties? Bar nites? Email mike@eunuchs.org.
Gimme your eyes willingly or I gouge 'em out with this spoon!
I'd just as soon use the source and compile a native version of something. Nice for closed-source stuff, though. Hell, it's all good.
Until they change their policy on LAPTOPS I still ain't ever gonna buy one. Take a walk, Toshiba.

SGI Still kicks ASCII on graphics. Well, except for those silly NT boxes... ;>
Alright, I'm gonna be there over the 19th too... What about an all-out geek assault on the local theaters? :)
Like I'm gonna buy one of these hand-me-downs now. Jeez. Well, it looked good when it first came out...
I'd be more worried about @Home. They're huge, and getting bigger all the time.
Two of the finer things in life. SGI and Linux. :)
My, isn't SCO popular these days? You can't even give it away! Linux is at what, a conservative 7-15 million? Hehehe.
SCO stinks. You're just jealous. Pppffftttt...
Now what was the question again? :)
Take a look at the clocks in Pulp Fiction - they're all set to 4:20... :)
Hey, isn't it 4:20pm? Oh my, it is! :)

That "HOW-TO" could use a lot of work/polish... Good idea though! :)
Depends on WHO'S lawyer it is! ;>
The further back we look, the more we look back in time... That's what I always kind of liked about the whole thing. :)
They use Exchange. That's why they haven't made contact yet! ;>
Too bad it's "only" 44 light years away. :)
