Would suggest you read the
pdf since its Fahmy's actual statements. All the other links are summaries and interpretations about his actual testimony. There a ton of info that couldn't be covered in the original blurb on slash. Just not enough room to write 2000-5000 words. Stuff in his presentation that wasn't listed in the summary or called out specifically include claims that Clouseau does not invade user privacy, gives no false positives (block no legal files), and has no scalability issues (cause no network bottleneck). In 5-10 minutes time, I'd suspect most of users here could demonstrate all 3 of those statements are in error or outright lies.
if they did delay it to tighten the code, nobody is going to boycott the game. its going to sell crazy numbers the day it goes gold. shipping it in a nonworking manner could be bad for long term sales though. sometimes a small delay beats mountains of patches. poor launch code has killed one or two anticipated releases. patching after the fact isnt always good for business.
about the only way to get part of the dmca struck would be congress (wont happen - see pacs) or the court system (which gpl3 could force). and if nobody challenges it in court, then gpl3 settles for enforcing a greyzone standoff. unfortunately in these times, some fights can only be won in increments.
What the exec meant to say, "Future versions of Windows to be fundamentally stolen." It only begs the question, which o/s will MS be ripping off for this 'new' design.
