typically for 'clarkian' sci fi, does it reek of shameless self adoration? are the characters bland?
im more of a p.k. dick, isaac asimov kinda guy.
i admit to liking 2001 book 1 though (A.C.C.)
cuil isnt cool, its lame. it reeks of marketing with a name like that and an 'impressive' "search 1000 trillion web pages" on the front.
furthermore, i had my browser set to text only and couldnt even use the damn thing.
as people are saying, the US needs to engage with its 'enemies', and do its best to spread the american way of life (insidiously) instead of strong arm tactics which turn enemies into worse enemies. its so strange that people with the drive to run a country lack the intelligence to realise that.
im not american (aussie) but barack obama looks like he probably realises - so i guess theres hope...
obama said that people cling to their religion and guns, thats not what people want to hear is it? it got him a lot of bad publicity, the kind of thing that loses votes. Lets face it, you can have a vision but you have to temporarily sell your soul to get the voting public to vote for you - and the public are generally self-interested
Big movies are expensive and so if they cant recoup cost or make worthwhile profits they will have to stop making big expensive movies, which is fine by me. When they cant afford to make big expensive movies they will have to make cheaper movies that use cheaper elements to entertain, old fashioned things like 'engaging plot' and 'interesting characters'. the internet will be responsible for a cinema renaissance.
And like a previous poster said, movies are suddenly only worth what people are willing to pay for them.
why is MS so stupid?
its blindingly obvious that the reason people use google is because its not a convoluted piece of crap (eg. every other search engine).
Its a clean interface with developmental emphasis on the search algorithm.
JUST COPY GOOGLE and make an MS version.
or better yet, apply the same principle to...an operating system.
So it sounds like a lobby group is bribing politicians to blackmail universities to catch students who are copying songs.
am i interpreting this properly?

not very exciting if you ask me.
problem easily solved(1): article features big stamp "verifiable information" or "non-verified" . everyone wins.
Or just have a forked entrance screen - one search field gos to properly referenced data, the other to insufficiently referenced data.
(1) Martin, L. (2008) Problem solved, bitches. Some Journal. 1-1.
furikup might want to change their product name if they want any success, at a glance it looks vulgar...

and importantly theres a broader goal of 'keeping crime down' in play
