That's NOT private property, that's personal possession, as I mentioned earlier. Private property is something that ownership of is granted by law, for example, an acre of land, or a factory.
Anarchist and other anti-capitalist philosophy has a somewhat different definition of property, that is *always* causing statements like this to come up. To clarify:
Property is something you own by law - for example, a factory, acres of land, an idea, rights to do this that or the other, someone elses' work. It contrasts with...
Possession. Something you *physically own*, for example, your toothbrush or radio, or smartphone, or (at a stretch) the house you live in.
To address your points - yes, violent crime is relatively low, but even ONE dead guy at the hands of the police is somethign that should be investigated and dealt with, and is a major problem. No police officer should be killing people needlessly, nevermind innocent people.
And people are objected to it - politicians, on the other hand, are not. And while we do not have the US bipartisan system, none of the major parties are for stepping down this. Massive voter apathy doesn't help things.
In my area of North London it's weeks maybe even months between sightings.
Last? Earlier this morning. Time before? A couple of days ago. Any evening I go out into town there's a few wandering. There's usually one patrolling the rest of town too. I'm not fan of the police, but I see them quite often.
I remember in the past one fellow at opera saying "The only way I can see opera on the iphone is through cydia" (sorry, can't find the link). Maybe Opera plan to get onto the iphone whether apple approve them or not.
Anarchism and Socialism are hardly like oil and water; most respected branches (that is, not the ludicrous "anarcho"-capitalism and the like) come under the branch of social Anarchism, and Anarchism has much shared history with communism (despite the communists habit of shooting us -.-)
and actually sets 1st level heroes apart from your average commoner. Am I the only one who thinks this is a really bad idea? Half the time I find classes too unsuitable for my fresh-off-the-farm 1st-levels, and have them playing NPC classes.
Joke, I know, but that's one hell of a tired stereotype you've got there. Every group I've been in has been at least 50%, if not more, female, and I know others with the same story.
Hell, I've even played D&D with women on the internet, of all things ^^
Philosophy != Religion. In philosophy, no matter what your belief, you have to explain how you got there, and "I read it in a book one time" doesn't usually cover it.
Saying something twice makes it no more true. As for talking down to them.. have you seen Dawkins discussing theism with a theist? the man should be given a medal for patience. He is not antagonistic, in that he does not (and he has stated this) intend to cause offence in what he writes.
Because I wasn't old enough to vote, you insensitive clod. And I'm not afraid of them loosing their power, I'm afraid of the people GAINING power. Really, the english language isn't so hard to understand if you try.
In a possibly futile attempt to influence the government, I have created a petition (not up yet, pending approval), that shall be found here when it is accepted:

Who said anything about no law? No law establishing property, sure, but laws against theft are all well and good.
You'd make a very good slave yourself; the belief that the body is property *at all* and can be owned *at all* is fallacious to start with.
That's not private property.

We oppose the former, but support the latter.

"not the average bobby on the beat"
And when was the last time you saw one of those?

Nobody sells them outside the US

For the most part, Objectivists see only what spews from Rand. Perhaps you meant Empiricist?
No, it isn't, and neither are you.
I hate to ask the obvious question, but.. why? Does you being born in a country make it better than others?
If you wear magenta, however, you probably deserve it.
ad hominem. I hope I don't have to say any more than that.
Dude, Slashdot .
That's what I thought, but decided to follow the parent's style ^^
Not quite, it still says what many slashdottians have been saying for some time; Ubuntu is better
No-one? I hope you realise that you've just caused me an existential crisis!
