    I, for one, (and I share this with absolutely nobody it seems) read text about three times faster on my desktop compared to books/newspapers. The ability to highlight text on the fly while reading, the vast amount of extra text that you can view at once and the fact that it is 100% flat is just heaven to me.

    But I appear to be alone...

    1. Windows 7 has better OpenGL performance no matter what hardware and what drivers you throw at it.
    2. 1.5GB? Sorry but I thought Windows 7 didn't use more than 200-300MB RAM and cached out wasted RAM space?

    Lower TCO - check
    CLI is not working on windows - wrong
    Most FLOSS runs on it - check
    Drivers for more hardware - check
    No kernels panics (BSOD) - wrong
    Not nearly as resource hungry - wrong because tests indicate that Windows 7 is less hungry than Ubuntu

    Maybe that's why our population keeps growing? Anyway we're doing pretty good; while the natural balance in the ecosystem is gone, humans are not killing it. OK maybe some species go extinct, but when was the last time you saw other species imbalance nature and persueing to fix the balance on their own?

    Hell some humans are even trying to figure out how to create(/restore?) a livable ecosystem on Mars!

    Are there still memory leaks in Firefox?

    Anyway most of the time people feel like Firefox is leaking while it isn't, due to caching. At least with verion 3.6.4 you can go to Edit -> Prefferences -> Advanced -> Network and specify the limit of what Firefox may cache.

    Give it a try ;)

    Linux user here (so much for disclaimers)...

    XP cold boots in under 2 minutes on... ehm... a very old Dell Pentium4 laptop with a horribly slow HDD. But maybe you are not only booting XP but also a whole cargo load of extra's along with it, like additional services, systray diver apps, potentialy malware (which you, of course, do not have because you have a virus scanner, right? *bonus points if you can see what I did here*).

    No they were sued for having a monopoly and tying a webbrowser to the Windows OS for free while webbrowsers where at that time not included with operating systems and definately not free of charge and in any way not fsck-standards-compliant.

    Most gamers are young people that didn't loose their interest in games yet. They will complain for being too stupid to understand that downloading a webbrowser OS is only useful to browse the wbe with.

    Adults will hopefully not make the mistake for downloading Chrome OS to play Win32 games and the ones who do not will hopefully make the idiots realise that they are idiots.
