I agree on linux servers depending on what we need to do sometimes we load the GUI sometimes we do not depends on circumstances. A GUI-Less OS is better the GUI takes up resources and if you are running older hardware this can make be the difference between good or bad performance. Windows server 2008 has an option to load just the command line OS most users just choose to take the easy way and load the GUI. I myself use the GUI on most servers but then I have to make a read only DC on old hardware I load 2008 without GUI. All depends on the environment you are working with and what you are comfortable with handling.

IBM does not surprise me being number 1 they have been around the longest and they have massive main frame market to protect. Apple being number 39 shocked me I though they would be hire on the list considering all the patent wars they have been fighting over the past year or two. I remember Microsoft got called out about 3 years ago because they had so many patents and were not defending them. As part of owning a patent you must hold up the legal end of if someone steals your patents you must legal go after them for restitution. One company I thought I would see in the top 50 is Google but I guess being a big open source company then don't file there patents or they don't have that many.

He started the StartUp America Campaign and meet with Apple, Google, Facebook and a lot of other Silicon Valley based businesses. If he does not veto the bill he will loose A LOT of support from those big contributers and supports of his campaign.

  18. quite breaches on Cleaning Up the Mess After a Major Hack Attack · · Score: 2

I agree with the sentence "the most dangerous breaches are the quiet ones" the reason is you don't know you got hacked and you don't know what they got. When a hack is quite the hacker can come and go as they pleases and instead of getting in and getting out the hacker has time to explore and make more exploits and holes for themselves to get in and out on. The best and most dangerous hackers are the ones you don't know about or can't stop from getting in and out of your network. I remember my security instructor saying "If a hacker wants in he is getting in just a matter of how long it takes them. You can do your best to prevent and clean up after but you can't stop it. If a hacker wants in there going get in some how."
