One of the reasons that got me logging in less to facebook was that co-workers and other people I barely communicated with started adding me and I'd sift through their wall posts and it's usually talking to themselves posting youtube videos of their favourite songs with no comments or talking about ex boyfriend breakups publicly to get some kind of support that doesn't come.
Replacing text and e-mail disturbs me as well. It's also the only factor that stops me from deleting my facebook. My friends now are simply too lazy to even respond to the email chimes they get on their smartphones these days unless it's from facebook to see if they have an update!
This is exactly how I've felt about computers for the past decade. Unless you play a lot of games or do some heavy editing work to upgrade your Video Card, etc there's no/true/ incentive to upgrade.
I mentioned this a while ago. It's been going on in my area for about 3 years now. Especially with "Find us on facebook and twitter!" and all I think of is "AOL Keyword."
It hurts my head thinking about it too.
The thing that really annoys me was seeing the logos on every webpage I went until I found some adblock subscription for all of that crap. It's still annoying to drive and see billboards with facebook and twitter logos every which way.
Off-topic, but speaking of CNN what is up with scam sites using AS SEEN ON CNN, MSNBC, etc. for stuff?
I was thinking the same thing. Also wondering how 'ancient' browsers like Arachne will handle this sort of thing (yeah, I still get on my DOS PC and check things on it occasionally).
The PPC hardware was cool, but I always felt the OS itself was lacking. I was never really a Macintosh fan, more of an Apple II series type of dude.
Switching to x86 was good for Apple, they've made more money than they ever would have selling their laptops.
I loaded up MINUET a few weeks ago on my DOS machine and it amazingly still works, though it's extremely picky trying to parse any HTTP. Telnet and Gopher still works okay, heh.
>>>Contrary to descriptions elsewhere on the page, I do no warm-ups or warm-downs, and no stretching before or after exercise. Stretching moves muscles to their weakest positions, which weakens them, and stresses their attachments to bones. Together, this means that stretching both lowers the effectiveness of exercise and raises the likelihood of injury. Don't do it.
I agree. I drive a car that's going to be 20 years old next year and it still runs good. Parts aren't at the point where it's getting impossible to find, but it will be someday. Places like autozone and advance seem to stock the third party stuff which is okay, but usually they're made to shitty specs. You kind of get what you pay for I guess.
It's really crazy how many people don't realize or care about this problem.

p. sure he's referring to the articles being posted (i.e. someone posts an article and doesn't RTFA and assumes shit).
This is marked troll because?

When did AC97 cards have Sound Blaster support?

Amen!
Thanks for this! It's really opening things up for me.
So true. :(
You mean what's going on now with my 1979 Honda CM400A motorcycle and ethanol blended fuel harming the carb?
