I tested for Vista and 7. After those beta programs ended I went straight back to XP. Compared to Vista and 7 (can't speak for 8) it's very lightweight and can install on just about anything out there.

The biggest issue now is finding drivers for newer laptops, especially for the audio.

The biggest thing that stops me from that is running Winamp with DSP plugins in WINE. However, one laptop upstairs runs Debian full time. Mostly for streaming stuff into VLC Player or other similar movie players.

I have a laptop that I loaded Debian onto it for watching some AVI files and other small things. The software available always seems to be a compromise with Linux though. That's the main reason I can't just straight up switch over from Windows yet.

However, I would love to the day that it's possible.

As long as it can keep up with traffic reliably that's all I give a shit about.

Didn't they actually start jetting carbs to run leaner once the limits were imposed? I may be wrong, but I know old motorcycles made after 1979'ish (give or take a year where you lived) started having leaner jetting to reduce emissions. And running leaner == hotter? I could be totally wrong though.

Yes, these corporations have all done awful things, it's no longer a secret. But, using the silly nicknames in what is supposed to be a serious discussion really drags it down.
