Sure, it's pretty simple. The dark area you seem to currently be in is your ass, if you pull your head down about two to three feet, it should come out.
Now then, not one "liberal" blamed Bush for Hurricane Katrina, so stop being asinine. The blame had more to do with the governments handling of it, which involved far more than just Bush, but as many of the poeple who fucked up were put there by him, it certainly doesn't make him come out smelling like roses.
YES! Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only person who finds the bag check policy insulting, I understand the idea behind it, but fuck you Fry's, I'm a customer, not a thief, and I can easily take my business someplace else, like online.
I second this, also being 6'5", its ridiculous how tiny cars have gotten, my knees wrap up and around the steering wheel. I think before we go adding fancy features to cars that may or may not be helpful, how about we design them so that people can fit in the damn things.
I don't think this story was posted because people thought it was something impressive. It was posted because people thought it was something funny and original, not every story posted has to be an earth-shattering breakthrough so stop complaining about it. And the fact that its from MIT has very little to do with it I imagine, its just a funny story that Timothy thought we might enjoy.
Actually, yes and no, a good portion of it is a product of lifestyle, and a good portion of it is not. If you look at the number of children under the age of 2 who need glasses, versus that number 50 years ago, you might be a bit startled by the results.
Me and my friends always get into this argument, they are against genetic engineering, while I am for it (yes, I realize that the article is not talking about true genetic engineering). There are some facts that we need to face as humans, several people mentioned that if we fix all of humanities internal problems, some pathogen could come along and wipe us out, maybe, but you forgot to take something into account. Many people say that genetic engineering is not ethical because it gives peole too much power over their children (and the rich could do it while the poor couldn't). Well folks, I hate to tell you this, but we NEED to do genetic engineering. Slowly but surely the human genetic code is going down the drains, we are introducing and keeping so many genetic imperfections that they are bound to start causing real problems soon. For instance, how many people do you know that need glasses? Or have asthma? Or are just genetically disposed to being over(or under)weight? The problem is, were we creatures living the wild, natural selection would take care of this. In the cave man days if you couldn't see a mammoth to kill it, you were't going to bring food back to the tribe, which meant no one was going to breed with you, and that your genes wouldn't get passed on. Then of course there is attempting to run away from a saber-toothed tiger when you start to have an asthma attack, on obvious difficulty to future breading attempts. Unfortunatly, since we are civilized we can support those people who wouldn't otherwise survive, they breed, and a new generation gets the bad genes. Look around you at how bad things have gotten, 9 out of 10 people that I know wear glasses. While some people (like me) just barely need them, I know of at least 3 people who can NOT function without their glasses. We need these things out of the species, and quickly.
Alright, I really hate to get off-topic like this, but since when did www.howstuffworks.com turn into a media front for Nintendo? I mean, I've used the website several times to show stuff to people that I couldn't explain well, and I've always thought that they did an excellent job, but that articale wasn't blatently spouting off Nintendo's message. There was barely any review of what the actually hardware was (although I do like the fact that its using an ARM processor (who wants to hack it for Linux??))... Sorry to go off-topic, but I just had to say something.
Oh yeah, what's the deal with the colors on the GBA???
Oh yeah, I forgot to add something (I know, I know, you should always preview first...). Something as simple as a shrinkwrapped plastic could keep it weather proof..
Okay, I can't find the information right now, but I know that best buy used to sell a Palm Pilot camera, maybe something like that, on a palm VIIx would provide the solution. As for the aerodynamics of it, I would suggest strapping it to your chest w/ the lens tilted upwards. Now then, for the calling and disconnecting you might need to do a bit of search for software that can do it, or even possibly writing it yourself if you know how. Sorry I can't be more discreptive.
Ya know, i'm just thinking that one of those CanSats would make the ultimate overclocking rig. "Yeah well, my Celeron 333A is overclocked to 10Gz, and its core temp is -300 degs C!!"
I went to school at a small college and was on the IT staff, the biggest problem I ran into was the "networking" people, they were the guys who ran the actual servers. Any time there was a problem on the network that they couldn't account for, we (meaning my fellow student co-workers and I) were to blame. And any suggestion we made was pretty much ignored, no matter how much proof we had. Thankfully the people I dealt with on a regular basis were much more likely to listen, actually, the student workers were universally considered the most knowledgeble.. Sooooo, after all this rambling, yes it does happen, in my experience its fairly rare, and there is still a lot of prejudice to fight once you get in there, but it is a wonderful oppurtunity to learn
Didn't somebody just setup a data haven? Perhaps something like that could be setup for saving these doomed resources, using funds from.. well, i don't know where exactly (i haven't thought this out that much), perhaps popular support..
Perhaps a better idea would be a combination of the two, one that searched like a traditional engine, but used a listing of everyone's links to rank the search, i.e. if there were twenty sites on Linux drivers, but one of them was booked-marked by way more people, that would be the first listed one..
I propose a system whereby one "person" can take in random gaseous elements, then use those same elements as a catalyst in a multitude of extraneous systems. This would allow said "person" to function with limited external interference, other than the occasionaly multicaloric base fuel replenisher and a serious of simple liquids to ensure proper function. I shall call it...Respiration
Obviously Lego Mindstorms would be high on the list of any geek (even if you have them, you need more to do the really cool stuff you've been planning to do...)
This is honestly not a bad thing. While it would be nice if the space missions would continue to be funded by the government instead of private business', at least this way it *is* getting funding. NASA hasn't made any really useful space missions in a long time, and this guy's trip is just the first step in getting more people to outerspace... Not to mention the fact that maybe NASA will see the fact that they too can make money off of outerspace. Picture this: Congress decides they want to make money off of outerspace, so they get more funding for the International Space Station, which gets it built faster, which means that some lucky few individuals can drop their 20 mil and get a ride.. but it also means the ISS gets built finally! I personally think this is a good thing..

I always suspected it was a frat hazing right, I mean, they were naked and trying to kidnap humans... sounds like a frat thing to me
[subjective....gee...what was your first clue? Maybe the list of target OSs, perhaps? Since when is KDE/GNOME an OS?]
Never, but they are Desktop Enviroments, which is what the article is comparing

LimaLimaAlphaMikeFoxtrot (LLAMF) which stands for... Lost Like A Mother f*cker
They are saying the pc will be produced by Lan Plus, so this is probably what it will be.

Thinkgeek has a wishlist (unfortunatly you have to email it to everyone, I'm not sure how that will jive with your sense of wedding propriety)

Actually, i would recommend brewing another pot of coffee with this.. (i.e., using this in place of the water.. )

What are the exact stats on the new server (or did I miss that posted someplace?)
