The Ad is excellent and its refreshing to see that Microsoft doesn't need to rely on negativity to sell its product.

I salute you for your intelligent & thorough reply. Having recently read some of the books of Sagan, Neil Turok, Richard Corefield, S J Gould I was stunned to see such post / reply on slashdot.
Especially when, most times these days all you see is negativity & bitterness towards each other. Personal stabs & insults towards someone whose views are different from theirs.
Guess humanity will survive this bitter phase of evolution after all.
guess that 'i' stands for inferior 'coz it lacks so many things that even non-smartphones carry these days...
i'm not sure if steve jobs has ever heard of 'high speed internet' that at&t is offering for almost a year...obviously he hasn't heard of A2DP (stereo bluetooth) either...
the only thing I find great about iPhone is all hype jobs was able to create...
even after paying $535 you can't set your own mp3 as ringtone
no copy/edit/paste commands(as per early engadget reviews)
no video recording
no 3rd party software? so I guess you can't play xVid/DivX/mms (live streming/video feeds)etc...
guess if you can create a huge hype you can sell anything...even an inferior phone and that too in 2007
Article sounds dubious...sounds like the writer is Big time apple fanboy & has NEVER compared prices of apple with Dell / HP or probably don't know how to compare pricing...
And not everyone buying a Laptop / Desktop cares about it sexyness / bogus hype or weight...there are people that cares for Real specs like processor speed / RAM Size / HD size / Graphics Card speed & RAM, etc...
And not everyone wanna run Autocad / Grphic designing for rest of their life...
And if apple is any good at making Laptop / Desktop why they have to run negative marketing? I've never seen any negative ads from Microsoft for Zune vs. ipod...

This is sooo Rotten argument that,
"It's better to legalize, tax and carefully regulate an industry than let it flourish with far less oversight in the black market."
And it is made by the people that do NOT have any damn skill in any damn field to make money other than Gambling.
