I think this whole situation has been blown out of proportion.
How will this code, that allows loading a 3rd party DRM plugin, be conceptually different than the bit of code that allows loading other closed source plugins (Flash, Silverlight, etc)?
The only problem I'm having with used games sales is the retailer making a profit off it. That's why I prefer buying and selling directly to/from gamers (using game forums or other similar means).
I think you chose the wrong example. I imagine the water in any decorative fountain being in a closed circuit, with some pumps that move it around. It's not like leaving the tap running all day and pouring it all down the drain, if that's what you thought.
Microsoft reaffirms stance against web ads: "The web should be clean and free of these obtrusive, virus laden, obnoxious commercials"
All I'm trying to say is that's easy to attack something that is not part of your own business model. Google doesn't sell software for a living. Of course they don't care about software patents. Even more so, they profit the most if everything is "free". Well not really free, but paid through ads.
I was always under the impression that hate speech is not merely a regular speech, but usually implies an instigation to harm against a certain group of people.
It's one thing if I'm just a regular Joe and I say: "I don't like gay people" and it's quite another if I'm the leader of a religious movement and say: "All gay people are a disgrace to god and moral values and cannot be tolerated. I urge true believers to bring swift justice against them".
I think that only the second example fits the hate speech category and should be punished.
I have read the Bible and it's clear for anyone who thinks objectively that the whole thing is thought and written by men, not by a god.
I could also recommend books by Dawkins or Hitchins, if we're on this subject.
You are not right in your beliefs, you only think you are.
You are comparing apples to oranges.
Apple does not make a sub 200$ phone. Not yet at list. I also don't know of any sub-200$ Android phone.
Maybe you're one of those guys that insists to use his phone only for making calls and that's fine. But you can't ignore the fact that the smartphone market (and its "offspring", the tablet market) is still growing. Nokia is really hurting in that segment. Its offerings are poor, too expensive, or (in the case of tablets) non-existent.
I've used Nokia phones with Symbian before. As a (dumb) phone it's been a great experience, but I fail to identify those great unique features you talk about. They don't have anything that could stand up to something like the Iphone or the Galaxy S in terms of features, ease of use and most importantly: available software.
They entered the fake search terms in Google's search engine using Internet Explorer with the Bing toolbar installed. The toolbar tracked the search terms entered in Google's search engine and the results shown by Google. How is that not copying their search results?
As others have already pointed out there are a lot of technical problems which need to be sorted out before something like this could be viable.
My guess is it will never happen.
Regarding your engine power vs speed limit comment: it's not just about maximum speed, acceleration matters also.
No. The number of possible games for rock-paper-scissors played by two protagonists is combinations of three taken two at a time (with repetitions) - 9.

You know why Apple hasn't sued MS for Metro or RIM of BBOS 7?
Is it because they don't represent a real threat to their mobile market share?
Don't worry, the cost will be transferred to the BT customers.
win / win?
Sometimes it's desirable to put these scams under a spotlight, don't you think?
There's always the option of a Sony Android phone :D

There you go:

You're welcome!
I have this configured as a shortcut key:
xrandr --output VGA-0 --auto --below LVDS
Plug TV in, CTRL+F8, Presto!

... now France. WTF Europe, is there something in the water?

Xoom 32 GB, Wi-Fi only ... 600$, as much as the Ipad2 32GB.
You were saying?
You are all too awesome. Started the morning with a laugh, thank you for that.

giving companies a viable alternative to Oracle-owned MySQL
How about a real alternative, like PostgreSQL?

(sigh)
I guess it's true what they say: sometimes by fixing a bug you introduce new ones.
Thanks, now I'll have nightmares thinking about what Nazgul porn might involve.
because when it falls into a river of molten rock, man, it's gone.
Sounds like you learned that from experience. One of the cons of maintaining the data center for Sauron, huh? Hope the pay is good, at least.
Step2: Sell the roentgenium.
Step3: Buy more gold?
They don't care. The sort of folks who obsessively block ads aren't good customers anyway
Apparently they do care, or else they wouldn't be interested in unblockable ads, would they?
