I don't consider nuclear energy to be a good/viable alternative to fossil fuels. *shrugs* And I acknowledge that, until we find a 'magic bullet' for our energy needs, life is going to get extremely hard to unlivable for a lot of people (myself included). But I don't think that causing more damage to an already wobbling ecosystem is the only solution.
at merely raping the atmosphere and all the continents the Human Locusts quickly moved to infest the oceans./bitter as hell this morning
But seriously, enough is enough.
Well, if it's not I'm sure it won't take much to make a Special Exception. Also, I might be a bit cynical after 8 years of Bush. (And yes I know that we're talking about Ireland not the US, I'm an equal opportunity cynic.)
Considering how many users don't know that's even an option, probably most. Most of the non-technical people I know approach computers as if they were an appliance. Which means they think that most of the look of the product, if not all of it, cannot be changed. It wouldn't even occur to them that they could change it.
If people use public transportation to move 'stolen' goods, does that mean stores should have the right to sue the transit authorities running the bus systems? Because that's pretty much what that case amounts to.
I have read something that indicated that electronic equipment can be damaged by radiation. But I have no idea what it was I read, or where I read it. I think I tripped over it on one of my late night link-surfing journeys. *shrugs*
Even if my health was perfect and I was properly trained, I don't see how a 'manned' mission to Mars will happen anytime soon. Primarily due to the issues of space radiation
I'll never get to go to Mars, but at least I get this. I'm loving the pictures that Phoenix is sending back. I enjoy seeing the differences and the similarities between the two planets. Just awe-inspiring.
would be fine. But I really don't care to see everyone else's search choices. At most I would tolerate a Relevant/Non-Relevant sort of system. But even that would require oversight. I think it would just be too much overhead for Google.
I was able to re-download episodes of a show I had a season pass to after my hard drive committed suicide. And I merely emailed their customer service department. Since my computer doesn't have a dvd burner (only a cd burner) I hadn't gotten around to backing up those episodes.
My sister had a similar problem with Verizon, actually. Only closing the account didn't solve it because her credit union re-opened the damn account when Verizon tried to get more money out of it. I don't recall how it was resolved, but it was a huge mess that took months to sort.

Would it be copyright infringement though? Or more properly something like trademark or patent violation? ;)
Revolution? Presumably at some point enough people will be sufficiently annoyed to get off their asses and do something. Until then...

I vote we call them the Borg. They have that whole assimilation/destruction, adherence to bland uniformity in common.

really make me regret my decision to not go to the Science and Math focused high school.
I admit I'm not well-informed re: DMCA, but I didn't know that sites receiving the notice could do that.
Yeah, my monitor is calibrated right. However, I didn't explicitly say the differences between Earth and Mars. Clarify it enough for you?

Yes, agreed. And thank you for saying it so clearly.
Or the garbage that is Hey! Nielsen's Popular List

Hah, yeah. The differences were a bit of a shock. I happened to enjoy the movie, but it seemed more an extreme parody of the book.
Yes, the website does that. The book, not so much.
From a fandom perspective as well as for original creators. The clearest discussion of the ruling comes from a fellow fan.
That's true. The last book of his I read, and thus the one I most clearly remember, was Starship Troopers with it's meritocractic government.
Oh yes, most definitely. Possibly saved him a little bit of idiot-mail along the way.
Some of the answers were amusing. Good to know that fannish entitlement and the false sense of intimacy are not merely a product of the internet.
