  1. History will repeat itself? on HD-DVD and Blu-Ray Disappointing So Far · · Score: 1, Funny

    Porn will lead the way!

  2. Um, Steam? on Manifesto Games is Live · · Score: 1

My thoughts exactly. I read it as "Women of FOSS" and thought Playboy had come up with another wacky pictorial idea.

  4. 2018? on Moonshot, CEV Modifications · · Score: 3, Insightful

I'm a bit confused as to how it takes us longer to get to the moon now than it did in the 60s.

Project Apollo was announced July 28th, 1960. July 20th, 1969, we set foot on the moon. Just under 9 years. (My dates may be a bit off.)

Even if you say the new project starts now, that's still 12 years. How frustrating.

How very Korean! I see tons of them with cellphones around their necks.

"Part of the reason for that is the fact that I no longer have to think about using Vi-style keybindings, and adjusting to anything else would seriously hinder my productivity."

And I'm so used to riding a horse I see no reason to move to one of those new "automobiles". It would hinder my productivity having to learn how to operate one. (Nevermind that I could actually get places faster.)

Talk about one hell of a case mod!

  8. Works Decent Enough on TrackIR3 Pro Head-Tracking System For Gamers · · Score: 2, Interesting

I have a TrackIr 3Pro. First few days were pretty tough and made my neck sore after a few minutes. After about a week it becomes much more natural.

However, it does train you to look at the monitor while turning your head. While flying for real (CJ-6A), I have noticed that my eyes tend to 'lag' now when looking around.

I also tend to focus on the instruments more than outside but that comes from more flightsim time than real time.

  11. Quantity...but Quality? on Worldwide State of Broadband - S Korea, Japan Lead · · Score: 4, Informative

I'm in Seoul at the moment. I have cable broadband for 33,000won/month, about US$29, including the tv side. Most people do have cable or DSL here.

However, it sucks. Goes down often which is normal for some US providers too. But when it does work, it's got some fat bandwidth but it's VERY laggy making most online games unplayable. My friend has DSL and the situation isn't any better.

Maybe if they gave it away in the US for almost nothing also, it would be wider spread there. But I much prefer my broadband at my US apt to the broadband here! (Even though it costs more than double, worth every penny!)

I had one show up DOA, and the other went bad within 2 days. Very nasty clicking noises. Both of them were RMA'd. New ones were formatted, but haven't been used since! Not quite trustworthy.

Nintendo has officially said that their next system IS using hardware T&L, like the GeForce video card. Microsoft is working with nVida, so they likely will too. PSX2 does not. Dreamcast does not.

What exactly do you think the VU1 on PS2 is doing then?

  15. Micron and other suppliers holding back on What's Causing the Memory Price Hike? · · Score: 1

After talking with a few places that sell today, it seems that some of the suppliers, mainly Micron, are holding back the RAM to raise the prices. As of today a 128MB stick of Micron was ~230 and they said it was expected to rise another 100 bucks!
