> I am sure in some alternative universe, you are correct.
And this one as well, but you are arguing a different point than SCO is threatening with.
> SCO, decided to, and then actually did distribute it under the GPL
Actually, no, according to them, the code that "they own" was not submitted by them to be used in Linux and therefore is not legally under GPL. When they were distributing Linux from their servers they did not know that their "stolen code" was in it. If they had themselves submitted the code in question to be part of the GPLed program, then yes, they would lose the right to it. They never entered into the GPL contract: someone else took their code and entered it. Legally SCO cannot lose its copyrights just because someone else took code and submitted it under GPL.
> you already have a license to use it FROM SCO
SCO gave the right to use the product Linux to the people downloading it, not to use stolen code that happens to be in it. If what you are saying is true, then if someone "accidentally" puts a virus in the Linux code that SCO distributes, SCO would be liable (ignoring the lack of liability in GPL, of course, this is just an example) for any damages that happened, even if the person inserting it has no affiliation with SCO.
Another way to think of it is, if SCO adds code to Linux that belongs to Joe. Bubba decides to distribute that same version of Linux. Is Bubba now liable to Joe because Joe's stolen code is in there? Certainly not. You are confusing SCO distributing software and SCO claiming ownership of parts of said software (which they have stopped distributing, imagine that). They are separate actions and they are unrelated in this matter.
Ah, so what you are saying is you refuse to think. I am getting tired of this nonsense. You cannot survive, be healthy and strong without meat, unless you live in an area where certain plants are available, or you take diet supplements.
You will not find a vegan (and it would be difficult to find a vegetarian) bodybuilder who does not take pills/supplements, if they even exist at all.
Ergo, it is an important food group. Humans have been eating meat since before recorded time, and you think you are being clever by saying meat isn't food? Gebus Criminy, man, stop arguing for the sake of arguing. Or at least give me something to argue against. I am trying to make a point, and you keep saying the same thing over and over and over, even though it makes no sense whatsoever, and you haven't given me a shred of evidence to think you are anything but trolling.
> It is the guy with the messenger bag that controls them
Hmmm... a guy who follows people around with his hand in a bag. Sounds like a good description of a terrorist to me. If I ever see one I'll just HAVE to call the cops on him -- you know, just doing my Patridiotic duty.
> divide in war those who might otherwise work together for peace.
While I believe your idea is right, I don't think the disappearance of religion would stop wars. It would just be different groups fighting, probably over money. If not money, land. If not land, skin color. If not race, for the hell of it, because there are a lot of very pissed off (and pissed on) humans (athiests and religious alike).
> Seems like Disney is just being your average company, just one with a lot more visibility
Vary true, but they are "held to a higher standard" (hah, yeah right) because they primarily market a child/family-oriented "product." Therefore people expect them to do every thing with 100% morality according to the person viewing the actions. Fuck that, they have the right to do business however they want without religious whackjobs (fanatics, not all religious are whacks) hovering over their every move. Although, Disney doesn't seem to complain about it TOO much, as long as they keep their legislators.
> when I was actually practicing martial arts a lot > Out of sheer reflex I had him in a shoulder throw on his way into the ground
Evidently, you need to practice more... well, maybe not -- you need to work on your reflexes more. If you are good enough at martial arts, you are not going to shoulder throw every single person who puts his hand on your back. Your neck, however, is another matter entirely.
> your is shorthand for you're. reader gets the meaning from the context. get over it.
Umm, no it isn't. "Real Shorthand" has set rules, and that's not one of them. However, I agree that the context is more important than spelling accuracy.
> Agreeing to using the GPL including their own possibly stolen code means that they automatically allow redistribution of this code under the GPL
This is why Lawyers exist. Because you are completely wrong, legally (I'm not saying SCO is right, however). Since the code was insterted into Linux "Without their knowledge," they never agreed to GPL "their code." What you are trying to say is that the person who "stole their code" distributed it under GPL, and SCO gave up their rights as soon as it was distributed by someone else.
That's like me sneaking into Microsoft and putting a GPL disclaimer in all the files of Windows 2006 Server's source code (assuming there isn't one there already, hehe), then compiling it and claiming that all of the source is now GPL and there's nothing MS can do about it.
> Throwing it out was painful after 25 years; it was like shooting my dog
That's kinda' messed up, dude. You might need to see a therapist. How do you get emotionally attached to something like that? It's only a dog! But I cried when I read about your T.I., sorry to hear about your terrible loss:(;P
> Yes, meat is food. But meat is not necessary, like food is.
What you mean to say is "meat is not necessary unlike VEGETABLES are" then. Well, vegetables aren't really necessary either, if you eat meat, take the right supplements... and a boatload of metamucil if you don't want cramps for the rest of your life... but yeah, whatever. I don't think this argument is going anywhere. We'll just have to agree to disagree that you're wrong;P.
J/K, In the end, it doesn't matter to me if someone is a vegetarian or if they eat meat & vegetables.

Mod parent to 5, this is extremely informative, and really cool to boot.
> Meat is food. But meat is not necessary, like food is.
That sentence makes no sense, but I think I finally grok your meaning.
"Meat is not a necessary food."
I still disagree, as vegetables aren't a necessary food either, but at least that's not blatantly stupid.

But as the title of the song, it is EXPLICITLY all lower-case. It's contrary to common rules of English, but correct.

Wow, he really DOES remind me of Oscar the Grouch. That's amazing.

How is he correct by saying SCO owns the underlying IP to all of Linux? Until you can accurately answer that, I will assume you are a complete tit.

Food is not necessary, unlike food is. Fucking brilliant.

And with statements like that, you are proving you don't want a discussion, since meat is food.

Form Factor. Is that the first phrase you came up with? Wow.
