I don't download songs so I'm not overly worried about these attack dogs. I'm more then happy for a court appointed third party to inspect my hardware for music. The only media of Sony's I buy is the games and I've never needed to use a backup copy of my game, so I'm also fine with the DRM.

  7. Re:"aggressively"? on $499 PlayStation 3 Confirmed · · Score: 0

Were I to be facetious, the $299 X360 is still way more expensive (more than double the cost) of the PS2 which has a far better library of games. Why you felt the need to make such a ridiculous point is beyond me. The Xbox360 isn't trying to compete with the PS2, no-one is. There's no need to try to compete with it, because its dead. Any gamer that's looking for a console now, is going to be looking at one of the new-gen consoles.

Now if they've never played an Xbox or playstation then they'll definitely look at backwards compatibility. However if we assume they've played ONE of the consoles, given how much of a failure the Xbox was, chances are they owned a PS2. In which case they'll be looking at non-PSX games and non-PS2 games, as they already have access to both. This means that the Xbox360 has all of the Xbox games along with all of the Xbox360 games to compete against the PS3-only games.

Or we could simply stop being silly and compare the next-gen consoles with each other. The Wii (which I've yet to hear of a game that would be halfway enjoyable), PS3 (which has a couple of games I'd enjoy along with a couple coming in the future) and the Xbox360 (which has a couple I'd enjoy with a few coming in the future).

For me its looking like I'll eventually get an Xbox360, but I might simply skip this generation altogether and go with the next gen as I'll have the next gen's games along with this gen's games (assuming they're backwards compatible).
