Leave US to deal with it.

Run KDE installation script. IT will put a bunch of stuff into/opt/kde. Remap it if you want, or make a symlink. Them as a user run/opt/kde/bin/usekde That's it. 10 minutes. Enjoy. It's all in documentation, and you do not have to be worried about dozen circular dependent packages as in gnome.

I think that if some big company, say Corel, or even bigger, like IBM, decide to write Qt based applications, it can be cheaper for them to hire people to finish Harmony, and use it for development, instead of paying to TrollTech. I wish it happens soon. (Not because I do not like free software, but because I want Qt to compile my code for Windows, QPL for Qt for Windows would be fine for me)

Not a big deal. If it is the same font in a single column, any character recognition program bundled with your scanner is almost 100% correct.
