The more traditional Senator Stevens "series of tubes" is more reasonable. How many of us drive many miles to work just to sit at a desk and type/read slashdot all day. That could easily be done at home and just imagine the savings in wear on your pants too.
Does this give any kind of hint that it might be a good idea to start thinking about concentrating less on Wine and maybe work on something to let Mac software run on Linux? Instead of chasing the complex, ever changing and broken win32 API, work on creating a unified *nix front against the beast of Redmond? They could even call it "Mine".
I'm sure someone is about to tell me something like this is in the works already. I welcome the information.:)
I'd suspect that the free license you got is just a short term one and if you buy the Mac version (possibly after trying it out on a free license?) you get a permanent PC one.
Maybe. But the current "content experts" are a bunch of biased, talentless hacks who have no interest in expending any effort beyond that it takes to get another set of eyeballs watching the advertising of the companies that fund them. We're going through a period of change right now and stronger, more reliable and more accountable news sources will be built on the rubble of old media.
OTOH, the school zone on the large road near me does nothing but cause the traffic to bunch up, making it hard for oncoming vehicles to turn into school, requiring a cop to direct traffic. There's no kids around so as far as I can tell, there's no need for it at all. Any flow issues could easily be addressed with a part time traffic light. It just shows that standard solutions are not a good fit for all situations.
Indeed. "Slippery slope" is the new "racism" in terms of attempting to perfunctorily end arguments. Using it is basically an ad hominem which *is* a logical fallacy.

They'll already be used to assuming the party escort submission position though.
This is the truth.
The light may actually be there. A similar effect can be observed crunching hard candy in the dark.
I thought it was the lack of a seam from the injection molding process.
The state is mother, the state is father.
Unfortunately, the evidence seems to be that yes, it does have to be like this, eventually. At some point it's time to hit the reset button.

How about "Don't ask, don't tell"? Something he could end with an executive order?
How about any progress on the idiocy of the drug war?
Bush is gone, man. Get over it.
Not hard to do. Mine already uses RFID as a secondary security measure from the factory.
The paper is being slow to come up but this sounds different to master keying (one key opens many doors) but is rather many keys open one door.
Manual re-keying is not that hard. Not everyone's cup of tea though.
I think the link you referenced may say more about British people than it does about speeding cameras.
Yeah, it says there's hope for my mother-country yet.
But actually stopping someone on the street to demand proof of citizenship? That's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Kinda good that that's not in the law then, isn't it?
Yep. And if you're not choosing to obey the laws you do obey, you're not a free man, you're an automaton.

And I guess they're concerned about violating Microsoft patents with that.
Nice one, Oscar.
That's odd. I tried making porn and ended up downloading The Onion http://www.theonion.com/
Some do flash

I know, it's spooky. It's almost as if a large number of people with many and varied opinions were posting.
