this isn't like the web where it helps (but is still far from ideal) to have a few central authorities who sign certificates for many entities? This sounds like it would be more of a central thing. Why not just self-sign and publish the key fingerprints in papers, journals and whatever?
However, in the US, highways often go for a very long time with only trivial roads crossing them. In the UK, everything is closer so naturally you get more major junctions in a smaller space. The US answer would have just been to put four-way-stops or lights where those roundabouts were. Much more annoying.
But so is CE since logically, the "Christian Era" didn't even logically begin at least until Christ had followers and more realistically, until the religion really got going later.
Best thing to do is just find another thing for "AD" to represent ("Arbitrary Date", "Accepted Date", oh, there's plenty of options). Then we can all write the same thing and be happy without having to make sideways swipes at each others beliefs. I mean, who actually writes "Anno Domini" anyway?
Though the fact there are plenty of examples left indicates it may not have been that much of a screw up. (barring that it may have been an aesthetic decision in the first place).
The thing is, messing with the water supply would take an awful lot of bucks. Any supply large enough to affect a lot of people is also large enough that you would need an awful lot of whatever you were using to have an effect.
There are an awful lot of easy targets though. Enough that I believe the fear of terrorism is massively overstated.
I suspect he didn't give up so much as he was able to afford to buy the new cars because he had bought the used cars previously.
And there's a whole class of cars between "clunker with the wheels falling off" and "new and loses 5k in value when you drive it off the lot". A low mileage used car can be a great deal and you also avoid a lot of new product and "burn in" issues.
I would never buy new unless I had enough money that I would be happy throwing it away. And I'd be unlikely to ever have that much money if I was the kind of person who would buy new on credit.
I have to say, I totally disagree with nearly everything else I have read that was written by you in this thread but this at least is true.
So I would like to point out that in Tennessee, if you are travelling 10mph or more below the speed limit and you have three or more cars behind you, you have to over or pull off the road *by law*. This applies to cyclists too.
If we end up with a filesystem like iTunes, I'm slitting my wrists.
So the tipping system induced you to steal from both your employer and your customers. Interesting.

Until some geek invents asexual reproduction in humans, it pretty much is.
All this talk of Pizza ovens is making me hungry.

I'll take only having to stop when there's traffic crossing your path to having to stop every freaking time any day of the week.
Yeah, a couple of hundred yards of stop-go traffic during busy periods when there's no cross-traffic at all... Excellent idea.
Get rid of most of the stop signs in the US and gas prices would drop appreciably.
Never seen a one way street?
I'm fairly sure you need three strikes in a basball metaphor.

Oh, I think I see what you mean now. I was thinking doppler reflections for some reason. Time for more coffee.
I don't know of any handheld GPS that uses doppler. I know for sure my etrex doesn't. It's possible I may have missed one.
Read much?
He suggested prosecuting dangerous driving instead of (often) abitrary limits, not getting rid of cops.
Google is actually being sued for $18, the cost of the software. It would be $19 but google had a voucher.

Ah crap. This threading system is a little hard to follow sometimes.
Duh. Air brakes.

Course they can. It's the landing that's the tricky part.
Forget repair. Just get a refurb engine and swap it in.

(By comparison, I don't think many people burned their copy of Naked Gun just because OJ was in it.)
A lot can be done with video editing software and footage of Natalie Portman.
