I think Netflix is likely more concerned with shutting down those who abuse their subscription by sharing access with several persons. I personally share it only with an ex roommate who was in the same household(which is permissible) for several months before moving to live with his brother in another state. I never took away his access after he moved. He is on disability and has poor eyesight. He couldn't afford a luxury like this and I doubt he is doing heavy watching due to being almost legally blind. I pay for the highest streaming plan cause I love 4k streaming their original programs. Netflix is most likely turning a profit on me despite allowing one other to share especially since I only use it a few times a month.

  4. While people who believe in the theory disregard any evidence that runs contrary to the theory, proper science takes into account all evidence. Rejecting data that runs counter to what you are trying to prove is very unscientific. There is plenty of denial to spread around. The ones who reject what the global warming believers say have seen the inconsistencies in the evidence submitted and refuse to be brain washed. The biggest lie about global warming theory is that spending our way out of it will stop it from happening. This is nothing more than a trumped up scheme to transfer wealth. The poor are hurt the worst by this. Studies have been done and shown that it is far cheaper to adapt to climate changes if they happen than to try and alter it.

The resale value of these isn't very high reducing the risk of theft and the on board processors won't be up to the task of running many popular games the kids will no doubt load onto the device. It isn't pointless at all for the entertainment enthusiasts! 4k is very much viable for those who are building high end gaming rigs or those who want full 1080p from their 3DTV. PC's are capable of the higher resolutions and the big payoff for cards that are powerful enough to run at 4k is a reduction in aliasing (jagged lines on the horizontal plane) in the game graphics w/o needing to use AA or as much of it compared to rendering lower resolutions. I predict 4k monitors will become popular in smaller desktop sizes first. It would be the ultimate retina display for gamers. Alternatively, you can game in 3d at 1080p for each eye instead of 540p. 4k would also be useful for professional digital artists and photographers. For 3d movie fans, 4k is the best solution to eliminate the loss of resolution with the better and much brighter method of passive 3d display. While active shutter gives the appearance of full 3d, the loss of image brigtness is it Achilles heel. The current drawback to passive 3d on 1080p displays is the horizontal black lines you see. At the same viewing distance, doubling this line resolution will make those lines virtually disappear. For 1080p 2d sources, the built in upconversion will improve an already great viewing experience!

This is dangerous to the consumer when billing errors occur. The power remains in their hands and they can ignore your dispute and charge what they feel. I do not use AWS agreements with subscription type services for this reason. So now if you don't agree to their blackmail they will make you pay extra for it.

I am a California native. Lived there most of my life until about 6 years ago when I moved to Montana. Thanks for the clarification on that. You wouldn't know they had such a provision with all the bad news you hear about their deficits. I didn't leave Cali for that reason, but it is certainly a good one. You clearly know nothing of Montana so why did you bother to make a comment?

Montana doesn't run deficits like other states for many reasons including a requirement in their constitution to have a balanced budget so Montana doesn't spend more than it takes in. States like California needs to have such provisions if they ever hope to remain solvent. Montana has shown that it doesn't need to jack up tax rates or charge a sales tax to remain fiscally sound. Only half the state would see temps of -30 and it is not a frequent occurrence as you implied. Maybe one strong cold outbreak a year in the dead of winter normally lasting less than a week. Our road systems are very well maintained with 2 interstates crossing it and several US highways with very few closures due to winter weather. Donner pass in California for example shuts down several times a year due to snow which can't be great for commerce that time of year. Most roads are paved and even the few unpaved ones are some of the best I have ever seen.

  18. Are these TVs reeally wasting energy? on New Energy Efficiency Rules For TVs Sold In California · · Score: 1

Think about this. Generally excess power consumption is given off in the form of waste heat. During the cooler months, many people are heating their houses to stay warm. Since the TVs do give off a lot of heat (stand near a flat panel TV display at your local store and you will feel it) they are actually saving energy that would be used to run a furnace for instance. If you have forced air heating this is actually saving energy in terms of the power needed to run the blower. I would however agree in summer months this would reverse and add to cooling expense. Then you have to consider when the flat panels are normally used. Evening and night hours and not normally during the warmest part of the day. I believe the energy waste is not more than half of what they are claiming based on this line of thinking. CRTs are not exactly all that efficient either when you take into account how much power needed per screen area. LCD monitors for PCs are far more energy efficient that their CRT counterparts. The same should hold true for TV units. Those trying to shame us for energy use are going to skew their calculations for their benefit not ours. They want to make us feel guilty for enjoying modern conveniences.

Toning down the amount of movement needed by a game would be a solution, another might be a more ergonomically designed controller or rubberized grip, or using a steel cable not nylon to secure the controller better. These few simple modifications would add only a small additional cost to the manufacturing process in my estimation. 22. DVD piracy on Piracy More Serious Than Bank Robbery? · · Score: 1

I think part of the problem at least with movies is how much studios demand we pay for a personal copy. When you got to a theater to watch a movie you pay anywhere from 5-10 dollars US for the experience. You get to see it on the big screen with great surround audio. At home, well, most cannot afford to upgrade to that standard. Nearly all new releases I see come out start at $15-20. This will get you a nice but no where near as good presentation as what you see in the theaters. It just isn't a good value at that price. People will pay what they think something is worth and if movie companies want to sell more legit copies then they need to consider this fact. I am not condoning piracy or trying to justify it, however, it is symptom of the real problem, new release DVDs are over priced and greed is killing legitimate sales.
