Oh, wait a tick, that hasn't been true for nearly FIVE years now since on Vista and 7 both run IE under low rights mode something even Linux doesn't have.
sudo -u $browseruser/usr/bin/firefox Just create a seperate user for browsing if you dont want the browser messing around with your files. Sure, requires configuring sudoers, but not exactly rocket science.
As far as i can tell as a non-american is that Fox News is a pretty lowly news outlet.
However that doesnt automaticly mean the story cant be true.
Just start assuming the opposite. "There are no duplicates within the millions of plants discovered." In a database of that size, with manually made entries for well over a 100 years, highly unlikely.
So, without further knowledge, one can only speculate about the percentage of duplicate entries.
Ubuntu is doing a lot of work on multitouch right now... I'm keeping my fingers crossed that at least some of these could have reasonably open drivers for their hardware.
The WeTab runs a modified version of MeeGo, but runs Ubuntu just as well. All the drivers work (including the Crystal HD decoder card). The hardware is pretty much identical to the ExoPC, so that should run Ubuntu just as well.
I think most mail clients are 100% IMAP... compatible.
You have no idea.

The news about Hawking's upcoming book challenges this argument, but unfortunately the article doesn't give details on why Hawking believes that the law of gravity proves that something can be created from nothing. If that can be proven (and I doubt it really can) then we can no longer prove that God exists with the above argument, and we are left with only faith.
Something appearing out of nothing?
Happens all the time, Pair production due to Quantum fluctuation.
Negating the thought with the time limit brought by the Uncertainty principle is impossible as the is no way of knowing if time even exists outside the boundaries of our universe.
and Android is already one of the most popular phone operating systems
Americans, huhu, you get it? You aint the world.
Android vs iOS seems neat.
Symbian only has 2% in the US but 40+% worldwide, so you may notice that this little proxy battle isnt concerning all to many people outside the US.
But well, Intel is american as well, so you might eventually get decent linux smartphones in the long run.
Sorry, but the US seems to be applying for third world nation status in mobile tech.
You know, not even half a year ago i read many comments from people claiming that traveling downwind faster than the wind was impossible using just the wind. Even from a lot of people with physics or engineering knowledge.
The idea that we have good understanding of the laws of the universe is laughable, even though many people believe it. Same mistake every generation has made.
There are many possible ways to break causality, ranging from additional dimensions to bending space time. Getting from A to B a lot faster than light is very well possible without moving faster than light.
Ok, i dare you to name one such piece of software.
Im sure you wont get any such software running, with all the library changes (or are you talking about "hello world"?)
Originally, like 7-10 years ago,
a smart phone was considered a phone with a fully functional operating system that could be accessed a developer.
If the SDK provides access to (parts of) the file-system, screen and network its a smartphone.
Nowadays the term "smartphone" is just as meaningless as e.g. "next gen console".
The market saturation for mobile phones (in general, not smartphones) is higher than 100% in most developed countries.
Partly due to the fact of having a phone for business and one for private uses, partly due to the fact that quite a few people have more than one phone (getting a new phone every 2 years on contract doesnt destroy the old one).
That was exactly my point and Windows vs. Mac is a good example.
Right, its a good example.
And the reason there is a lot more software for the PC... is?
This would be significant if it was a 'Droid X outsells iPhone' headline.
Wrong.
And right.
Depends on the perspective.
From the perspective of the hardware maker you are right.
From the perspective of the software developer you are wrong, how many _compatible_ devices is the big question.
Which brings me to a really weird question...
Why do so many people develop for the iPhone?
Even desktop linux has a higher installed base than the iPhone..
57 microSv/hr hotspot in Kashiwa.
I heard there some empty flats in Ramsar and Guarapari.
See?
... he only wanted to test the new product.
So sure about that?
Who knows, Sun might have survived if Google had paid royalties.

To be fair, I have never had any malware with OSX and I'm certain I will not..
Welcome to relevant market share.
We Linux guys got the problems long enough, i also had to reinstall a VM because i forgot to change a default password.
You think XServe is dead because it was better?
is of course Lynx.
Aside from that Opera should require at lot less resources.
And now, "bubbles"?
till the bubble bursts.
I hear thats what allways happens sooner or later.

Do you want people with official looking badges handcuffing you?
It's not voter apathy. It's voter impotence.

Less threats, sure. But far from completely secure.

(why should you rewrite a framework everytime you start a new application)
Lots of frameworks are corsets. Looks nice, but only hinders when you want to get the job done.
Just one thing.
How the fuck do you expect to learn something about the CPU if it's hidden beneath 20 abstraction layers?
DOS sure had its advantages.
Ever looked at the sources?
Its mainly the Jake2 code. And switching from Java to HTML5 caused like what? A 90% performance drop?
